Celebrating 5 years! 🎉 We're incredibly proud of our team at the Monroe Plaza Clinic and the care they've given to thousands of Houston pets. To better serve the Houston community, last month, our staff completed specialized training, allowing us to expand life-saving heartworm treatment at Monroe, in addition to our Wayside Clinic. American Heartworm Society ranked Texas as #3 in heartworm cases and Houston is experiencing high and growing rates. This expansion was important to provide critical care to even more Houston dogs in need. For the past few weeks we have been hosting a series of community events. These events are designed to gather insight from our clients, staff, community partners, donors and board members. I’ve met with dozens of people and I’m always so excited to hear responses from every corner of our broad community. The question we ask is “What can be done to help Emancipet thrive and close the gap in veterinary care?” The answers are deeply varied and every event is unique. However, each time certain elements rise the the top, and folks always share bright and profound insights. In mid March we’ll share an overview, and the work itself will inform our strategic vision for years to come. As of today we’ve hosted 8 events. We have three next week in Philadelphia, but was in Houston last week, and one final event will be the following week in Austin. Thanks to everyone who attended and shared your thoughts! I’m so grateful to be building our bright future together with each of you. Shout out to Tom Harrington for teaching me this powerful activity in 2010!
