From Vision to Impact: CS4All in Kenya 🇰🇪 This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to bring our nonprofit, CS4All, to Kenya in partnership with Asante Africa Foundation. For 5 days, we ran an intensive BootCamp at Mwangaza Muslim Mixed Day Secondary School, under the guidance of principal Abdikadir Ismail, introducing 40 enthusiastic kids and 10 dedicated teachers to the world of computer science. Our focus was on: - Scratch Programming 🖥️: Making coding fun and accessible. - Gadget Exploration 🔍: Teaching kids how to use tech in creative ways. - Fundamental CS Concepts 💡: Building a strong foundation for future learning. - Introduction to Artificial Intelligence 🧠: Showing the kids the future of computing. The results were nothing short of inspiring. Not only did we empower these students with the skills to create their own digital stories, games, and projects, but we also equipped local teachers to carry the Scratch curriculum into their schools—multiplying the impact across the region. This experience reinforced our belief that every child, regardless of geography, deserves access to quality education in computer science.
