Your trusted manufacturing advisors. Helping Minnesota's small and medium-sized manufacturers grow profitably.
About us
Enterprise Minnesota is an ISO 9001:2015 certified consulting organization that works with small and medium-sized manufacturing companies to help them compete and grow profitably. For over 30 years, we’ve been helping manufacturers throughout Minnesota achieve sustainable profits and growth through our service areas of strategy, talent/leadership, continuous improvement, management systems, and manufacturing peer councils. Our expert advisors cover all corners of the state. No matter where you’re located, Enterprise Minnesota has a local manufacturing expert ready to work with you. Enterprise Minnesota also serves as the “voice” of Minnesota’s manufacturing industry and is at the center of an important and diverse coalition of interests that all support manufacturing. We work with colleges and universities, business industry “thought leaders,” economic development entities, policymakers, and granting organizations to help raise the profile of manufacturing as a key driver of Minnesota’s economy. Our signature initiative each year is the State of Manufacturing® Survey, the most comprehensive survey of Minnesota’s manufacturing economy. It reveals the perceptions and opinions of manufacturing executives and key stakeholders on issues impacting business. Now in its 12th year, the State of Manufacturing® survey provides depth and context to the economic outlook for Minnesota’s manufacturing industry. To learn more about how we help Minnesota manufacturers, visit www.enterpriseminnesota.org and click on our Consulting Services page. We also invite you to subscribe to Enterprise Minnesota magazine (it’s free!) and The Weekly Report newsletter to stay up to date on the latest information and trends in Minnesota manufacturing.

In his work with manufacturing clients, expert Eric Blaha specializes in improving productivity, reducing unplanned downtime, and identifying opportunities–including automation–to drive better results. Not coincidentally, those are the same tactics he uses to boost productivity on the 300-acre beef cattle farm he operates with his wife. Whether at work with his clients or at home on the farm, Blaha is getting an awful lot of practice improving operations. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gRGkT_xY To learn about Blaha’s farming operation and how it enlightens his consulting work, and vice versa, check out the next issue of Enterprise Minnesota® magazine, scheduled to be published on November 14th.

In the Fall 2024 issue of Enterprise Minnesota® magazine, Tom Paserba, an experienced professional, discusses how organizations might view — and improve — their ISO audit experience. Read: https://lnkd.in/gtnVdTSV "Some companies will always look at ISO as a piece of paper that will help them get business. But we hope they gather enough information over time to see the value that this system can bring them. Quality is a management system they can use as the framework to make their company better," says Paserba.

With help from business leaders, two of Minnesota’s technical colleges are upgrading to teach advanced manufacturing. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gBJkbHGg St Cloud Technical and Community College's Advanced Manufacturing Center is filled with state-of-the-art equipment and the EDA expects the grant to lead to the creation or retention of 1,290 jobs and generate nearly $38 million in private investment in the area. Similar upgrades are just around the corner for Pine Technical and Community College in Pine City, where demand for programs in advanced manufacturing, particularly welding, has the school bursting at the seams. Local leaders clearly recognize the value of manufacturing to their communities, and they understand that well-trained employees are vital to its survival and growth. In both cases, manufacturers have played key roles, advising on needed programs and equipment to ensure the skills taught match the market’s needs. Read all about it in this week's Weekly Report.
