In today’s #MakingAnImpactMonday, we recognize our role in shaping the environment. 🌍  At Envu, we are committed to mitigating our environmental impact across our 21 global operating sites through proactive biodiversity assessments. In 2023, we’ve made significant strides:    ✅ Completed biodiversity assessments at 75% of our locations, allowing us to understand local species and ecosystem health.  ✅ Restored 4.8 hectares of native forest at our Paulinia, Brazil site.  ✅ Implemented a series of sustainability initiatives to protect biodiversity.    Looking ahead, we aim to complete assessments at all sites by 2025, ensuring compliance with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) endangered species list. These evaluations will become a requirement for all new locations. By conducting these biodiversity assessments and taking proactive measures, we are not only safeguarding the natural habitats around our operations but also aligning with the global benchmarks set by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.    Read more about our commitment to environmental stewardship in our latest article, “A Hard Look at the Footprint of Envu Offices.” https://lnkd.in/gfBFUc-S   #MakingAnImpactMonday #Biodiversity #Sustainability #Envu

World Environmental Health Day, inaugurated by the International Federation of Environmental Health, is observed around the world annually on September 26 to shine light on the connection between society’s health and the environment. The theme for 2024 is “Creating Resilient Communities Through Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation.” In this chapter of “Innovation Behind the Scenes,” Christian S., Envu solution development manager VM, EMEA and APAC, discusses the management of invasive weeds on railways that affect operations and pose fire hazards and other disasters. Christian explains how weeds — like the huge Japanese knotweed plant — cause severe damage to infrastructure and can also harm natural #biodiversity. Today, on #WorldEnvironmentalHealthDay, we proudly reaffirm our commitment to be a force with nature, carefully balancing the needs of evolving societies with the preservation of our precious planet. As the growth of invasive vegetation threatens the safety of essential #infrastructure, Envu is working with customers to respond with greater focus. With advanced chemistries and cutting-edge technologies, we are able to identify and locate invasive vegetation so customers can apply the right solutions in more precise ways in order to control the threat and mitigate disaster risk. To keep societies moving safely into the future, we must be a force with nature.

This year, September 10 is being recognized globally as Thank a Golf Course Superintendent Day. Inaugurated by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), the day recognizes those who are essential to golf’s success — encouraging all golfers, those in golf business or anyone who benefits from the sport to thank superintendents for their hard work and tireless dedication to our shared green spaces. ⛳ Alongside the GCSAA, numerous organizations are participating in this global celebration, including the British & International Golf Greenkeepers AssociationThe Australian Sports Turf Managers Association, the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association and the Federation Of European Golf Greenkeepers Association. Collectively, these organizations represent a network of over 31,000 golf course management professionals spanning 78 countries worldwide. As the unsung heroes of the game, golf course superintendents' expertise helps ensure that every round of #golf is played on meticulously maintained tees, fairways and greens. But their contributions go beyond the course. Time spent outdoors, enjoying the beauty of nature and staying active are not just good for the game — they’re good for the mind. In fact, The National Institutes of Health has reported an increasing body of evidence in support of nature-based interventions as effective tools to improve mental, physical and cognitive health outcomes. Thus, #golfcourse superintendents' daily work enhances not just the course and the sport but also the well-being of all who take part. We know that with the right products on their side, golf course superintendents can be more proactive and consistently deliver on their vision for excellence. That’s why we’re proud, today and every day, to support golf course superintendents with effective solutions that help them manage their courses sustainably, ensuring that golf remains a cherished sport and pastime for generations to come. Because to be a force for the experiences golfers revere, we must be a force with nature.

Our Envu Brasil Vegetation Management teams — Forestry Early and Solution Development, Commercial, and Marketing Activation — recently had the privilege of participating in the XXXIII Brazilian Weed Science Congress in Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil. The valuable event brought together industry leaders, professors, key clients and partners to focus on the future of weed control and #forestmanagement. Our teams showcased the latest advancements and delivered two insightful institutional presentations highlighting our innovative solutions for planted forests and forest restoration. We also contributed significantly to the perennial crops panels with two oral presentations and shared nine written resources. A huge congratulations to Natalia da Cunha Bevilaqua, who received the Outstanding Oral Presentation Award for her exceptional work in weed management in perennial crops and nonagricultural areas!
