Thank you, Wesley Scott, for sharing your experience as an 2024 Events DC STRIVE intern! 🌟
Marketing Student at Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University | Seeking Summer 2025 Internship | Freelance Photographer
✨ Reflecting on an Incredible Summer at Events DC ✨ This summer, I had the fantastic opportunity to work as a Marketing Intern at Events DC, where I gained valuable hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of event marketing. From day one, I could contribute to exciting projects and collaborate with the best team. Some key highlights from my internship: ✨ Worked on marketing campaigns for incredible events such as Clipper Race Fleet Week, the RAMMYS, and Otakon, which allowed me to showcase my creativity and further develop my project management skills. ✨ Managed social media content, including intern spotlights and event promotions, helping to increase engagement across platforms. ✨ Worked with Nabila Ivy on Camp Zen, where I contributed to the event's branding and gained valuable insight into how events are executed. ✨ Gained experience in market research and using Sprinklr to fine-tune marketing strategies for future events. ✨ Created and distributed marketing newsletters using Intuit Mailchimp, honing my email marketing and audience engagement skills. ✨ I was a mentee to Katrina Huey of Creative Services, learning from her wealth of experience and insight in the events planning and hospitality industry. ✨ Worked closely with my marketing manager, Samantha Dikolli, who was a fantastic mentor. Samantha taught me invaluable skills in strategic thinking, campaign development, and how to navigate the fast-paced world of event marketing. ✨ Volunteered at Martha's Table, giving back to the community and connecting with the local nonprofit scene. I am incredibly grateful to the team at Events DC and the interns for their mentorship and companionship and for allowing me to sharpen my marketing skills in a dynamic environment. This experience has inspired me to continue exploring my passion for event marketing and communications. Looking forward to applying what I've learned in my next chapter! #MarketingInternship #EventsDC #EventsMarketing #ClipperRace #RAMMYS #Otakon #CampZen #MarthasTable #Marketing #Internship
