  • EXPAND YOUR SKILL SET THROUGH PEER MENTORSHIP. The ROI on personal and professional growth is entirely dependent on the input. I’ve found that nonprofit and networking organizations where I can work with others outside my industry have been the most fruitful in expanding my skill set and worldview through peer mentorship. – Monica Hickey, The Evoke Agency

As I close out my internship as an Account Strategy Intern at The Evoke Agency, I wanted to reflect on the incredible experience I was given. In this role, I was able to learn from an amazing cohort of creatives — founders and co-founders, account executives and coordinators, photographers and videographers, writers and editors, and other interns. Learning from a wide group of people has inspired me to explore all of the avenues of marketing. In my two semesters, I got to work with beauty and lifestyle brands. Throughout the summer, I worked with Olivia Garden, Andis, Moose Games, The Trade Hotel and NCG Hospitality. In the fall, I got to dive deeper into all things Olivia Garden. What a varied group of clients to learn from! In working with these clients, I gained experience in…  🟠 Social Media Management  As a daily task, I engaged with the brand’s social accounts through community management. Here, I engaged with the audience to maintain and develop their relationship to the brand, amplify the brand’s values, and assist with any questions and comments from the audience. 🟠 Content Creation From ideating and developing photo and video content for the client’s social media, to assisting in content shoots (and even being a hand model!), to continually exploring new ways to advertise a product, I developed my ability to create purposeful content. 🟠 Agency Proceedings  Overall, I was able to learn how an agency organizes itself. Learning the intricacies of project management, essential software (such as Wrike, Canva, and Sprout Social) and creative strategy (thank you, Mckenzie Miller!), has provided me with a deeper knowledge to prepare me for my future endeavors. One of my favorite parts of the internship was working closely with Jeffrey Craig Lunnen to manage Olivia Garden Español — the brand’s Spanish channel. This experience was a great opportunity to practice my bilingual skills in the workplace. I also very much enjoyed the content challenges. Monthly, all interns gathered to create social media content from a creative brief. In doing this, I was able to collaborate with other interns to create engaging content. We thought through the asset’s theme, shot composition, editing, font choice, copy, and when the content should go live. It was rewarding to see our initial vision come to life, and then be posted on socials. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who made my experience at Evoke amazing! Thank you Monica Hickey for welcoming me onto the team; Jenna Mytton, Abigail Brindza, Hannah Harger, Celia Cory, Taylor B., and Allisyn Walsh for providing education, encouragement and mentorship throughout my internship; and the entire intern team for their support and camaraderie! I look forward to applying everything I have learned to my future professional endeavors! Please view some of the work that I have done at Evoke at my online portfolio! https://lnkd.in/g5vgD9zc
