In business, decisions are rarely black and white—they're full of complexity and nuance. While it’s tempting to focus on outcomes, the real value lies in how we get there. This is where authentic leadership makes all the difference. Swipe for insights from Evolution Partner David Shechtman, MSOD, PCC’s article, "Authenticity in Leadership: Living Your Company Values," and explore the concept of Thinking Out Loud. This approach encourages leaders to openly share their decision-making process. By being transparent about the values, dilemmas, and considerations behind tough calls, leaders can build trust, foster clarity, and strengthen team alignment. What if leadership wasn’t about status or authority, but about service and adding real value to others? True leadership is a privilege—one that brings late nights, big challenges, and little glory, but the impact can ripple far beyond the organization. As leaders, it's essential that we ask ourselves, - "How can I strive to show up for others?" I just had the privilege to attend and present at another meaningful The PEER 150 conference. Three days in the presence of a few hundred leaders and change makers. This year's national summit was held in the heart of Seattle, my hometown so it had a very special energy for me. The highlight of this year's conference was hearing Museum of Pop Culture (MOPOP)'s CEO, Michele Smith gift us with her inspirational story. As always, thanks to Brad Coen, Ryan Gabel and Cam Keizur for putting together another top notch event and for being class acts. I also want to recognize Jovana Teodorovic, Marissa Andrada, Melissa Lovely, Michele Smith, Stephanie Bastin-Wells, Christina Thuy SeafortMatthew Middlebrooks, GBDS, Matthew Bragstad, Heather Denniston DC CCWPTammy PerkinsMark Brown and Tom Byrne, CEBS, CDAA for being a really wonderful group of co-presenters and all around great humans. Most importantly, it was a true joy to have the opportunity to present alongside my Evolution colleagues Solunis Nicole B. and Stuart McCalla. Two people that fill my heart and make the world a more loving and conscious place. Working with them each day is a gift.

    Managing Partner, Executive Coach/Facilitator - Programs with 🐺, 🐴 and 🦁(in Kenya!)

One of my clients checked in with a new hire to get her impression of the company’s culture as she’s been onboarding. The response was “Everyone’s so nice!”. At surface level, that sounds great. Like something a company should be proud of. And it can be. But…. I asked about the relationship between their nice culture and accountability. And my client did a double take as the hard truth hit her. It’s quite common that cultures that feel like family struggle with accountability. At Evolution, we use a model called I/We/It to effectively diagnose what’s going on in a company’s culture. The I dimension has to do with each Individual, the WE with the relational and the IT with the How We Do Things. Often companies are strong in 2 of dimensions, yet weaker in a 3rd. In the case of this company, they are strong in the I and WE components, but need to focus a bit more on the IT - how we manage things, acting towards a culture of accountability, how to express and operationalize our values at the stage/scale we are at currently, etc. When the I and the WE are strong, but the IT needs some TLC, there is typically a resistance to accountability, lack of clarity on priorities and goals, and a lifestyle culture that feels good but can have poor results. How does your company fare in these 3 dimensions? If you need help diagnosing, reach out! Evolution #spiraldynamics #executivecoaching #leadershipdevelopment #companyculture
