The Lone Star is becoming nuclear’s North Star. SXSW 2024 was marked by the increased presence of nuclear technology within the energy dialogue. We thank Texas Nuclear Alliance for welcoming our CEO Carl Perez on a thought-provoking panel, where nuclear's benefits and challenges/opportunities were discussed. Texas is becoming a leader in the sector, given its recent proactivity: ▶ Multilateral stakeholder engagement in the form of the Texas Advanced Nuclear Working Group (led by the Public Utility Commission of Texas) enables a holistic approach to assessing the path forward. Most projects fail because certain stakeholders were not consulted early enough. In Texas, government officials, academia, reactor developers, energy customers, and merchant vendors are all involved. ▶ Advanced nuclear projects such as X-energy & Natura Resources are demonstrating their units respectively at Dow’s Seadrift site and Abilene Christian University in Texas. “Deploy, deploy, deploy” has been on everyone’s mind, but Texas is doing it. ▶ The state has been working with ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and several companies to develop a nuclear-grade supply chain. After all, interest in nuclear is pervasive but current procurement options are limited.

Thank you to AlleyCorp for hosting such an interesting event! Carl represented us at this town hall, where NYC Mayor Eric Adams shared the many initiatives his administration is implementing. He addressed a group of entrepreneurs and investors to explain how some of the city's challenges can be solved. Clean and affordable energy access is a big priority. However, Indian Point's premature shutdown in 2021 removed 60% of NYC's clean electricity, only to be replaced by carbon-emitting gas plants. Indian Point is a >2GWe multi-reactor nuclear power plant in the Hudson Valley (36 miles away from the heart of Manhattan), which is currently undergoing decommissioning. Its shutdown was largely due to political reasons emanating from the fear of a meltdown as it happened at Fukushima, and local concerns regarding the disposal of Used Nuclear Fuel often referred to as "nuclear waste". Exodys Energy has a solution to recycle the UNF into fuel for the current and future reactor fleet. Hopefully, this can help prevent any future effort to shut down a clean energy asset, and possibly help restart them!

We are humbled to top the Energy & Climate category of the BuildList (https://www.buildlist.xyz/), based on upvotes! It demonstrates that nuclear fuel recycling is one of the more exciting and impactful endeavors. Please drop us a note at info@exodysenergy.com if you are interested in learning more about our technology and/or joining a team of relentless and ambitious individuals! The BuildList was created by Ryan M. & Christian Keil to help increase discoverability for companies building critical technology in a variety of sectors, and encourage people to work on the world's most pressing challenges.

Not like it matters a ton, but still warms my heart to see Exodys Energy at the top of the Buildlist (https://www.buildlist.xyz/) for Energy & Climate. We’re just beginning to see how critical it is we have a robust fuel supply chain for nuclear (fission and fusion) in the US🇺🇸 Thanks to Christian Keil and Ryan McEntush for helping spread awareness of the companies working on the most important problems in their earlier days.

We were honored by Elko County Commissioner Jonathan Karr's presence on the American Nuclear Society panel covering "used nuclear fuel" recycling. We particularly enjoyed his refreshingly positive perspective on nuclear's future role in Nevada. The Northeastern Nevada Regional Development Authority is contributing to a cultural shift in favor of nuclear technologies -- in a state that possesses no nuclear power plants and is opposed to hosting a deep geological repository. Recycling provides an incentive for states to re-assess their position on hosting "used nuclear fuel" without having to delegate radioactive material supervision to the hundreds of American generations to come.

NNRDA at the American Nuclear Society Conference This week, NNRDA representatives attended the American Nuclear Society Conference in Las Vegas! They connected with industry leaders, explored the latest nuclear developments, and promoted Northeastern Nevada as a top spot for nuclear research, development, and deployment. Over 1,200 key stakeholders, including scientists, business leaders, and investors, gathered to network, collaborate, and embrace the "All in on Nuclear Development" theme. NNRDA Board member and Elko County Chairman, Jon Karr, participated in the panel "UNF as a Viable Fuel for Next Generation Electricity Production" alongside Dr. Christina Leggett (Booz Allen Hamilton), Dr. Oliver Hemmers (SC Energy), and Ed Pheil (Exodys Energy). Commissioner Karr highlighted the evolving perception of nuclear energy in Nevada and expressed enthusiasm for bringing cutting-edge nuclear technologies to Northeastern Nevada. The NNRDA Board passed resolution 2022-1 "In Support of Nuclear Power Generation Technology Research, Development, and Deployment" two years ago to promote the nuclear discussion in rural Nevada. This resolution can be found at: https://lnkd.in/gjCqYb9H Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to drive innovation in our region! #nnrda #nucelarenergy #NevadaBusiness #nuclearnevada #OpenForBusiness #ansconference

⚛ Our Chief Technology Officer, Ed Pheil, is in Las Vegas representing us at the American Nuclear Society's Summer Meeting! ⚡ He just delivered a compelling talk for the "UNF as a Viable Fuel for Next Generation Electricity Production" panel alongside Christina Leggett (Booz Allen Hamilton), County Commissioner Jonathan Karr (Elko County Nevada), and Dr. Oliver Hemmers (SC Energy) - moderated by Steve Curtis. 💹 Ed provided an overview of market dynamics that are instigating a nuclear recycling revival, which include the recent spike in uranium prices, supply chain constraints, and uncertain back-end fuel costs from the Amended DOE Standard Contract. ♻🚀 Advanced Reactors present a lot of promise and Exodys Energy is committed to ensuring cost certainty around their fuel procurement, in addition to Used Nuclear Fuel storage & disposal.
