    How to #Pivot According to the rules of #basketball 🏀 when you’re stationary on the court, you're allowed to lift and move one foot, so long as the other foot (the "pivot foot") remains planted on the ground. See video 🎥 example below. Using my #pivot foot was a favorite move of mine because it allowed me to bypass multiple defenders. But I also like this move because of what it represents on a deeper level. Keeping one foot on the floor (pivot foot) represents to me the idea of having a strong sense of identity, core values, or mission statement that helps you “bypass” life's challenge -- without losing focus of the goal. I see a great example of this everyday with my work 💼 at Fabric, where I've had the honor of being head of sports relations for nearly three years (S/O to our amazing CEO Saul Garlick, colleagues and #investors). Fabric launched with a clear mission statement: creating game-changing mixed reality technology to “connect” people in real time. The first goal was to bring together students on college 🏫 campuses - but then the pandemic hit and no one was on campus. However, because of the strong mission statement, Fabric succeeded in pivoting, bringing this goal of fostering “connection” through innovative technology to sports fans. Fabric was off and running and within a short time became a leading mixed reality fan engagement platform for almost all of the major #pro #sports ⚾🏒 ⚽🥊leagues in America! Always striving to grow, Fabric continues to pivot, and we're now using cutting edge #technology to connect leading brands with fans at live 🎵 events.     I first heard about Jewish champion boxer Dmitriy Salita when I was playing college basketball 🏀 at Towson University. I remember being inspired by his strength, resilience, faith and talent. He immigrated to America from Ukraine without knowing any English, and shortly after arriving, he lost his young mother to cancer. Despite these challenges, he achieved his dream of becoming a professional 🥊 boxing champion. And he did so without fighting on Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath, even though it meant losing lucrative 💰 opportunities. I became an instant fan and hoped to meet him one day. Several years later, I was playing professional basketball in Israel. I was in New York on a trip and met Dmitriy at a restaurant. I was so excited to finally tell him how much I admired him and his journey, and to my surprise, he said that he felt exactly the same about me. We became instant friends. I was particularly impressed by Dmitriy’s knowledge of the business 💼 side of boxing, and I left thinking that he would be successful, even after retiring from fighting. I was right! Fast forward to 2024. Dmitriy is now an award-winning 🏆 boxing promoter renowned worldwide for producing great fights and for his innovation in advancing women's professional boxing. After retiring from playing basketball, I started working in sports tech. Most recently, my colleagues at Fabric and I have been providing leading brands with game-changing marketing opportunities using Fabric’s mixed reality platform. We’ve connected brands to fans in pro #basketball, #baseball, #hockey, and #soccer. And now, thanks to Dmitriy and Salita Promotions, we will be entering the pro #boxing space!
