We joined forces with Any Baby Can of San Antonio and the Autism Community Network to deliver Autism training at the San Antonio Police Department Academy to our second cohort of cadets. Thank you, Robert Peaden and Adrienne T. Gaither, OTR, C-SIPT, C/NDT for all of your expertise! And thank you Autism Society of Texas for the sensory kits. The cadets loved learning how and when to use the sensory tools. Thank you to our advocate Jeanine O. for the photographs. To more learning and advocacy in 2024! #autismacceptance #policetraining

Fighting to break the School-to-Prison Pipeline through Student Advocacy & Autism Awareness.
About us
We help neurodivergent kids succeed in school and life! Family ADDventures Advocacy protects disabled students, especially those with emotional and behavioral disorders, or invisible mental health conditions like Autism and depression, from being improperly flagged as having discipline problems in the school system. First, it ensures disabled students are receiving services afforded to them by law through IDEA. Second, it keeps disabled children out of the school-to-prison pipeline by providing education and training to educators, school staff, and parents. Third, it brings awareness of learning disabilities and other mental differences to the public through social media, ebooks, podcasts, interviews, and free education. The work to keep children with dyslexia, Autism, and other learning and behavioral needs in general education classes and out of behavioral units is never-ending. We present how to best serve disabled students and how to improve executive function and social skills for children. We educate parents on how to advocate for their children and ensure they are living up to their potential!

We serve the disabled population in school and beyond. We take on as many clients as we can each year pro bono. We also provide free sensory-friendly audits to businesses in our local area and publish a list on our website for families. Our mission is to keep neurodivergent and developmentally disabled students out of the school to prison pipeline so we partner with nonprofits to provide training, sensory-friendly events (like Sensitive Easter Bunny and Sensitive Santa), and services to our community.

What a fantastic day! 🐰🌸 Thank you to our advocate Jeanine O. for handing out free fidgets and educating parents about our services.
Our Sensory-Friendly Easter Festival in partnership with Inspirational Experiences and St. Matt’s UMC was phenomenal! Over 350 ppl in attendance!!! Thank you to Autism Society of Texas for the free sensory tools! One parent said “I’ve never felt we could participate in Easter Egg hunts because there’s nothing for kids on the spectrum.” Inspirational Experiences and Family ADDventures are changing that!!!
