About us
Mission: To enhance the wellbeing of children and families in partnership with our community. The Family Care Network is a 501(c)(3) private, nonprofit children and families services provider. Established in 1987 for the purpose of creating family-based treatment programs as an alternative to group home or institutional care for children and youth, the agency, nationally accredited by The Joint Commission, operates 20 distinct programs designed to strengthen and preserve families and individuals impacted by trauma. * In the agency’s 28 year history, our programs have grown to serve over 1,500 children, youth and families annually in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. * Programs are delivered in five service divisions, including: Resource (Foster) Family Services; Family Support Services; Education Support Services; Transitional Age Youth (ages 14-24) Services; and Community-Linked Services. * All agency programs are based on Best Practices, Wraparound Principles and evidence-based or promising practices. * The Family Care Network values integrity, accountability, program fidelity and outcome-based services.

Did you know that older youth, ages 13-18, are one of the largest populations in need of foster or adoptive families? Fostering or adopting a teen comes with unique joys—like more sleep, fewer messes, and deeper, more mature conversations. It’s a chance to form lasting bonds while helping guide them into adulthood with love and support.💙 Consider fostering or adopting today and help us create brighter futures for the youth in our community.🌟 https://lnkd.in/gTT8_zEJ #NationallAdoptMonth #Resilience #ResilienceBuilding #Hope #Support #Stability #Empowerment #FamilyCareNetwork #SanLuisObispo #familysupportservices

The Bay Theater in Morro Bay is doing a special run of The Wild Robot—the beloved children’s book turned hit movie that premiered this fall—running from 11/1 to 11/7!🎟 While the film touches on many wonderful themes, we at FCNI are especially grateful for its powerful depiction of unconditional care, the call to help one another, and the reminder that family isn’t always the one you’re born into.❤️ Our staff members will be at the theater on Nov. 2nd and November 5th (which is also discount day!) for the 4:30pm show to talk about our programs and answer any questions you have about becoming a foster parent. We can’t wait to meet you! 👋 #Resilience #ResilienceBuilding #Hope #Support #Stability #Empowerment #FamilyCareNetwork #SanLuisObispo #familysupportservices
