It’s a wonderful day in Chelsea, MA! Feed the Children and The Salvation Army Massachusetts Division has joined up with Price Rite Supermarket for their “Feeding Minds and Bodies Campaign,” and we’re here to do just that! At our Resource Rally today, 800 families will receive boxes of food, household and hygiene supplies, backpacks filled with school supplies, Price Rite gift cards, and more. In the United States, 1 in 5 children experiences food insecurity. As the holiday season approaches, more families may struggle to provide – not just gifts and special celebratory meals, but enough food at all, as the absence of in-school meals stretches their budgets to the max. It’s why partnerships with organizations like Price Rite are so important. Since we began working together in 2015, more than 40,000 families have received the fresh fruit, vegetables and groceries they need to nourish their families.

We’re working to transform lives with our programs throughout the United States and across the world. Today, on #WorldFoodDay, we want to celebrate a story of success from Malawi: Frasiko and his family live in Chilenga, a village in the rural heartland of Malawi, and a region where one in three households is below the poverty line. A small maize crop provided most of the family’s food, but their diet was monotonous and missing crucial nutrients. The turning point came when Feed the Children’s Child-Focused Community Development (CFCD) program reached their village, providing immediate relief and, most importantly, setting the family and their community up for long-term success. Feed the Children is excited to celebrate the first-every #DAFDay today! 🎊 DAFs offer a unique avenue of giving with many benefits to the patron, including upfront tax deductions and the ability to create a lasting legacy. Only 17% of people in the US know what a DAF, or Donor Advised Fund, is – we want to change that! Today, we encourage all those with existing DAF accounts to contribute to a charitable cause of their choosing. Learn more about DAFs, or give today, on our site: https://bit.ly/3Y7CRyX

This month, Feed the Children is celebrating 30 YEARS of partnership with PepsiCo Foods North America! In that time, we’ve served over 123,000 hungry children and families throughout the US, and created the Food & Essentials Hub program to help bring necessary resources to schools. This week, PepsiCo joined us in hosting a Resource Rally at Detroit Public School Community District. In Detroit, nearly 70% of households face food insecurity – a much higher rate than the national average. Food insecurity affects a child’s growth, including their education and in-school performance. The event provided over $125,000 of food and supplies to kids and their families.

This past weekend, FTC Transportation, Inc. joined the Pioneer Library System's Touch-A-Truck event, giving kids the chance to see one of our vehicles up close. Definitely met a few future drivers, based on interest in getting to honk the horn!
