  • Meet Teresa! 👋 She grew up outside of the U.S. and realized how fortunate she was to never experience food insecurity. For many, she knew, that was not the case. Seeing hungry children and adults while her family had so much was difficult for her to understand. Teresa was introduced to FMSC when her sons were in middle school. As a parent chaperone on a field trip, she was amazed at what she and her children were doing. It made her heart so joyful to hand-pack meals that would directly feed hungry children. 🍚 When Teresa saw the opportunity to become an FMSC fundraiser, she decided that was the next step in her support. She began emailing her family and friends asking them to donate toward her fundraiser. With their support, she raised over $14,000 last year. 👉 This is enough to feed 132 kids a meal every day for a year! She said, “People are good ... it's easy to find so much negativity in the world today, but seeing people support my fundraiser reminds me of the positive all around me.” Thank you, Teresa, for showing up and working hard to turn hunger into hope for so many. 💙 #herstory #ourmission #womenshistorymonth #feedingkids

  • MannaPack meals are at work through the Comitang PBFA (Project Based Food Assistance) that launched last August in #ThePhilippines! 📦 The meals are being used to create stable access to food and support livelihood initiatives directly identified and executed by leaders in the community. 💙 When you give to FMSC, you support relief — but your donation also supports several sustainability projects like this one! #foodisthefoundation #feedingkids

  • Three years ago, Yaritza faced what felt like an impossible choice — she needed to work to support her family, but she had no one to care for her young daughter. As a mother in Peru, she longed for a way to contribute financially without sacrificing time with her child. That’s when she found Artesanas de Esperanza (Artisans of Hope), a program through Buckner Peru that would change everything. 🧶 Through the Tejiendo Sueños (Weaving Dreams) workshop, Yaritza learned to create amigurumis — intricately woven stuffed animals and dolls — now sold through FMSC MarketPlace. This opportunity didn’t just teach her a skill; it gave her the freedom to work from home and provide for her family. Within her first month, Yaritza earned 700 soles — enough to buy a bed for her daughter. More than just furniture, this was a symbol of stability, a space her daughter could call her own. It also gave Yaritza and her husband a renewed sense of privacy and dignity in their home. But Yaritza’s journey didn’t stop there. With every amigurumi she weaves, she crafts more than just toys — she weaves a future for her family. She has gained confidence, independence and a leadership role in her community. Today, she is a graduate of the Family Hope Center and an active volunteer, inspiring other women to pursue financial independence while staying present for their loved ones. ✨ Thanks to the support of Buckner Peru and the artisans’ program, Yaritza not only found a livelihood but also discovered her own strength. She now stands as a testament to resilience, proving that with opportunity, dedication and hope, transformation is possible. We celebrate her (and the many other lifechanging stories like hers through FMSC MarketPlace) this #WomansHistoryMonth! #shopwithpurpose #feedingkids

  • Mama Edith, founder of FMSC partner Home of Hope in #Uganda, is doing extraordinary work. This is her story >>> When Mama Edith gave birth to a son with special needs, her family urged her to let him die. When she refused, her family disowned her. Raising a child with special needs is challenging anywhere — but as a single mother in extreme poverty, it seemed impossible. But Mama Edith refused to give up. She saw a future for her son, and soon other families who were overwhelmed by the challenges of raising children with disabilities in extreme poverty began bringing their children. They asked Mama Edith to care for them too. And she said, “yes.” 🗣️ What began as one mother’s determination has grown into a lifeline for 96 children with special needs. Each child at Home of Hope has a unique story, a unique hope. For some, that means receiving full-time assistance with feeding, mobility and therapy. For others, it means accessing education and opportunities once thought impossible — one young woman in the home is earning a college degree online. 👉 At Home of Hope, a full life looks different for every child, but it always starts with care, dignity and proper nutrition. Providing for these children is a daily challenge — but MannaPack® meals make it possible. These meals do more than nourish. Because they are donated, Home of Hope can redirect critical (and limited) funds to medical care, therapy and education. They can transform these children’s futures. For her dedicated and lifechanging service to some of the most vulnerable in her community, we honor Mama Edith this month. 💙 #womenshistorymonth #feedingkids #foodisthefoundation
