Last week, together with the Committee for the Future of Eduskunta | Riksdagen | Parliament of Finland, Consul General Jarmo Sareva, Commercial Counselor Elina Räsänen and Honorary Consul Frank Donnelly explored Texas’ approaches to some of today’s big questions in energy, healthcare, and space. ⚡🏪🚀 In Houston and Austin, our delegation connected with local leaders, tech experts, and officials, exchanging insights on sustainability, innovation, and new ways to collaborate across borders. This visit builds on the 2022 Statement of Mutual Cooperation between Finland and Texas, which highlights shared goals in areas like digital transformation, connectivity, aerospace, and energy efficiency. Our dynamic itinerary included discussing the future of energy at the Shell Technology Center, exploring the Houston Spaceport and Space Center Houston, engaging with the Texas Medical Center on healthcare innovation, visiting Strangeworks for insights on quantum computing, exploring tech startups at the Capital Factory, and discussing the future of cellular networks at AT&T Labs, Inc. Among the many insightful exchanges we had were meetings with City of Houston Council Member Letitia Plummer, Jeffrey Blair of the Greater Houston Partnership, as well as Texas Deputy Secretary of State Dave Nelson and Assistant Secretary of State Jacqueline Walker, Colonel Travis Walters, International Trade Specialist Shirley Agudelo Temple and General Counsel Ben Barkley at the Capitol. Thank you to all our hosts for the candid conversations and hospitality — we are looking forward to seeing these partnerships grow! #future #aerospace #healthcare #energy #texas
