MAC Flooring & Interiors CEO Kristin Giebler had an interesting start to her floor covering career. After graduating from UC Irvine, Giebler followed in her family’s footsteps and entered the insurance business before starting her own brokerage firm at 21. While running the insurance brokerage firm, Giebler cofounded MAC Flooring in her garage some 15 years ago. “I was working my regular day job in insurance and then running the operation side of this business,” she shared. “Within six months, we started selling out of swap meets and moved into our first location in Aliso Viejo, Calif., about a year after that. Then, we just kept building and building,” Giebler explained. “We really started from scratch.” About eight years ago, Giebler put her stamp on the business as sole owner.
