With 527 anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced this session alone, and an impending election with high stakes, LGBTQIA+ rights are on the line. The choices voters make in just a few weeks will have a profound impact on everything from healthcare rights to family definitions. At FOLX, we see firsthand how this political climate affects our community’s health. We surveyed over 1,500 LGBTQ+ individuals across the country to learn more and were devastated, yet not surprised, by some of the results. Read the full report to understand the pulse of the trans community this election season in our Library: https://lnkd.in/eQY9TPXc

Did you know today is International Pronouns Day? The day is dedicated to raising awareness and educating people about the importance of respecting and sharing personal pronouns. When we work with benefits teams, pronouns are one of the hot topics people want to learn more about - especially with the increase in use of they/them pronouns or multiple pronouns, and with tools like Zoom and LinkedIn and Slack encouraging people to share their pronouns with others in the workplace. One of the best ways to show your allyship is to share your pronouns! Sharing pronouns is not just for trans or gender diverse people. It's a way for all of us to normalize sharing our identities and let people know they can share theirs too. Join in by updating your pronouns here on LinkedIn today, or fill in the blank with this graphic with your pronouns and share it in your feed.

🏳️🌈 Happy National Coming Out Day! Coming out is not just a single moment—it's a complex, ongoing journey. It can happen many times, in many ways, and it’s different for everyone. For some, it’s sharing their truth just with loved ones, for others, it’s finding safety in being fully themselves at work. At FOLX, we understand the importance of safe spaces—whether that's at home, in healthcare, or at work. We know that workplaces can play a big role in creating an environment where LGBTQIA+ people feel affirmed and seen. By cultivating inclusive policies, proactive support, and real allyship, we can make sure that coming out isn’t just an option, but something people can do safely and on their own terms. To everyone on their coming out journey, wherever you are: You are valid at every step. You don’t need to have all the answers, and you deserve to take each step at your own pace. We see you. We celebrate you. There's a place for you here, whether you're out or not. #NationalComingOutDay #LGBTQIAInclusion #SafeSpacesAtWork

This World Mental Health Day, we wanted to remind our community that we see you. You deserve spaces where you feel safe, cared for, and affirmed—today and every day. It’s okay to take a break from the grind sometimes, reach out for support, or just pause for some breaths. Our community is deeply impacted by mental health challenges. LGBTQIA+ adults are more than twice as likely to experience mental health conditions compared to the general population. Transgender individuals face even higher rates, with over 40% having reported serious psychological distress in the last year. Let's use today to uplift each other and remind one another that it's okay to ask for help, to rest, and to be gentle with ourselves. Together, we can build the workplaces we deserve—affirming, compassionate, and, dare we say, even mindful, if not demure? You are not alone. Let's tell each other how much we care, today and every day. 💜 #WorldMentalHealthDay #LGBTQIAWellness #MentalHealthAwareness

More than half of LGBTQ people aged 18-29 have experienced depression, 1.8 times the rate of non-LGBTQ individuals. On this National Depression Screening Day, consider getting some support, or giving some. Your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. Take a few minutes today to check in on yourself or encourage someone you love to do the same. We've created a depression quiz that you can take at 📝 https://lnkd.in/gSs3ukg9 💙.

BREAKING: It was just announced that the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals stayed a federal district court decision blocking enforcement of SB 254 - the Florida law banning health care for transgender minors and restricting it for transgender adults. The ruling allows the state to enforce the law while the Court hears Florida’s appeal of the decision that SB 254 and the Boards of Medicine rules unlawfully targeted transgender people. This is devastating news for trans people all over Florida, at a time when many are experiencing intense stress about the upcoming election and what it may mean for the future of trans health. If you or a loved one is in Florida, what does this mean for your care? Here at FOLX, we can continue to care for you. You can make a telehealth appointment right now if you want to start care with us. Then you will need an in-person signed consent form and will have to use the form approved by the Board of Medicine (we have this ready). We have 5 locations across the state where you can have this appointment. If you're not with FOLX, know that this may cause disruptions in your care. This ruling means that, at least temporarily, your prescriptions will have to be written by a doctor (an MD or DO) and cannot be written by an NP or PA. We are here for you, and we will continue to work every day for increased access.
