The global AI powered smart video market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.2% from 2023 to 2028. Unlike most of the other AI-powered video analytics solutions on the market, FocusAI chose an important direction in hardware-enabled powerful edge computing to allow lower cost, lower latency with superior performance. Check out this short clip of founders Sudhakar Ram and Qing Lu where they share their stories on startup journeys, technological breakthroughs and offer advice to new founders. Huge congratulations to Max and Jacobi Robotics for their $5M seed round led by Moxxie Ventures. Jacobi's software is reducing robot commissioning time by 95% and cutting total project costs by 24% for Fortune 500 companies across various sectors. Their platform is transforming how software engineers implement robotics applications, much like how machine learning has become accessible to developers in recent years. We're proud to continue supporting their vision alongside Moxxie Ventures, Humba Ventures, The House Fund, Swift Ventures, Berkeley SkyDeck, LDV Partners, and Courtyard Ventures, and can't wait to see how they'll continue pushing the boundaries of robotics technology. #robotics #startups #robotarm
I’m thrilled to announce Jacobi Robotics has closed a $5M Seed Round led by Moxxie Ventures. Yahav, Lars, Ken, Jeff, and I set out to build Jacobi with the goal of democratizing robotics, allowing people to focus on meaningful, creative work. Our inspiration came from the transformative progress in the field of machine learning. Just a few years ago, machine learning was limited to a small group of experts and researchers. But today, any software developer can train a production-ready machine learning model by following an online tutorial. Soon, software engineers will also be implementing production-ready robotics applications using Jacobi. We are just at the beginning of that journey, but our software has already been used by multiple organizations, including Fortune 500 companies from various sectors, and has been successfully deployed in live factories in the US. With Jacobi, our partners have seen a 95% reduction in robot commissioning time and a 24% savings in total project costs. The new investments from Moxxie Ventures, Foothill Ventures, Humba Ventures, The House Fund, and additional investments from Swift Ventures, Berkeley SkyDeck, LDV Partners, and Courtyard Ventures will enable us to accelerate our work in developing the modern software platform for robotics. I cannot express enough gratitude to everyone who has supported us at Jacobi—our customers, partners, investors, community, and our recently expanded team. Creating something of value from scratch is never easy, but with your support, we are driven to push boundaries and achieve our shared vision. The best is yet to come. Thank you to MIT Technology Review for sharing our story. - MIT Tech Review: https://lnkd.in/gXUQQiqG - Blog Post: https://lnkd.in/gsxJgvbZ Photo Credit: Marla Aufmuth

Huge congratulations to Chris Carson and Hayden AI on their Series C round led by TPG the Rise Fund! Hayden has built a platform for AI enforcement of traffic rules, starting with bus lane enforcement. It's the sort of business that is incredibly difficult to penetrate as a start-up (think: municipal contracting, privacy regulations, entrenched incumbents, etc). Now that Hayden has become BY FAR the North American leader in the space, they are getting demand from around the world to help make city transportation smoother, less chaotic and more sustainable. Well done! (tagging investors Alexei Andreev, Kolya Miller, Lisa Schule, Rajani Ramanathan, Benjamin Levy, Matt Caspari, steve ellis, Rory Kelleher)
I am thrilled to share that Hayden AI has closed on a $90 million Series C round led by TPG's The Rise Fund. This milestone is a testament to our revolutionary work at Hayden AI. Our vision AI platform gives cities and transit agencies the tools to improve sustainability, traffic safety, and transportation accessibility. Thanks to TPG’s Steve Ellis, Tammie Y. Chen, and Eric Ganshaw for believing in our company. The Rise Fund has a long track record of successfully scaling socially impactful companies across the technology and climate sectors, and we are honored to have you by our side as we enter this next phase of growth. This would not have been possible without our incredible team, whose collective efforts, dedication, and unwavering belief in our vision created this success. I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to each Haydenite for your invaluable contributions to this achievement. Now we get started on our next chapter. Here’s to building the future of vision AI for smart cities.

Sequoia Capital's David Cahn has written an important piece: "AI's $600B Question" (a follow-up to an earlier piece that he wrote analyzing the increasing disconnect between AI infrastructure spend and the needed AI revenue to justify it). It's a sobering read, but not overly pessimistic in our view. (as a side note, Cahn is worth following for a series of very accessible thought pieces picking his way through the AI thicket) https://lnkd.in/ghqaZ-xG
