A cross-industry platform – and one question: HOW DO WE WANT TO LIVE IN 10 YEARS?

About us

The Foresight Academy is a platform from and for companies of various industries. This research platform and network has been initiated by Audi / Audi Business Innovation GmbH and participating companies are adidas, Allianz, Audi, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom, E.ON, Ferrero, Infineon, Hornbach, McDonald's, Novartis, PepsiCo, Porsche, SAP, Sonova and Swiss Re. Our goal is to explore how customers want to live in ten years and to create shared visions of a desirable future everyday life. Therefore, the Foresight Academy encourages the exchange across industries and enables partners to gain reliable insights into what humans of tomorrow truly desire. Together we conduct international research, based on a sophisticated methodological basis. The range of qualitative and quantitative research components is particularly extensive: various partners from business and science are involved, the research is well-founded and conducted on an international level. Our methods do not only focus on central drivers of change and major shifts in demographics, infrastructure, science, culture or socio-economics but also pick up weaker signals that can only be detected by taking a closer look and by deep exchange with people and their everyday experiences and expectations. Thereby we gain insights concerning the core question: "How do we want to live in 10 years?”.

The future on display Ferrero Germany presents a multimedia, large-format future exhibition and invites all employees in Frankfurt on a journey into the future with new perspectives. Thinking about the future should not only be reserved for management circles. At least that's how Ferrero sees it and has set itself the task of communicating its future knowledge directly to all employees. The exhibition unveils captivating insights into "How We Want To Live In 10 Years," derived from the collaborative research of The Foresight Academy, in which Ferrero and 15 other forward-thinking brands have joined forces to conduct foresight research.   Inform - inspire - empower How do we define a fulfilled life? What will be important to us? Is the digital real? The future exhibition triggers new thoughts and perspectives, opens our minds to new possibilities and fuels positive energy for a better future. By combining economic expertise with scientific research and creative thinking, visitors embark on a fascinating journey into the various dimensions of possible futures. The oversized, powerful images are designed to emotionally connect with the audience; thought-provoking questions and data points are intended to make visitors pause, reflect, and question their assumptions. The aim of the exhibition is to equip everyone with future knowledge, to spark new thoughts and ideas and to empower everyone to shape a better future.    Future foresight for all employees Ferrero has been an active participant in the Foresight Academy through its Task Force Future (TaFF), which ensures that future insights are integrated into Ferrero's daily operations. TaFF has now taken the bold step of transforming the complex and dense information from current future research studies into an internal exhibition that is both informative and engaging. The team collaborated with the Foresight Academy's lead agency, gravity GmbH, who designed an exhibition concept that is accessible and reusable. This exhibition is a significant step in Ferrero's ongoing efforts to raise employee awareness about the future. By involving their teams in foresight activities, Ferrero is building the foundation for proactively shaping the future from within the company. #Together, we can create a better future. #Ferrero #Innovation #Foresight #FutureLiving #FutureAwareness #BetterFuture

"How do we want to live in 10 years?" This is the question that the The Foresight Academy addresses. And as Rupert Hofmann from Audi Business Innovation GmbH states it, this is a question which is too big to tackle alone and which calls for collaborative #foresight. In a guest lecture in our Master Globale Foresight & Technology Management, Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, students not only learned about this approach but als how companies like AUDI AG and Novartis are using these insights. Many thanks also to Antonis Sarlikiotis and Ursula Collins for sharing your perspectives. Remarkable is also the effort of The Foresight Academy to democratize foresight, by for instance co-creating with SAP/David Jonker the Open Foresight Hub, making foresight knowledge available: https://lnkd.in/dDAm8sU3 We at the Bavarian Foresight-Institute have contributed to this effort: 👉 #sciencefiction for foresight: https://lnkd.in/euqp3dpP 👉 #videogames for foresight: https://lnkd.in/dYPG7YgN #strategy #leadership #innovation

Business Development Director @ Work Force Hungary | Integrating B2B sales & marketing into powerful business strategies

Cathedral thinking - a vision for the future & a lot of responsilities for us Thursday night I was in Budapest listening to a terribly interesting lecture on the subject, Friday morning I was walking through the cathedrals of Malta... An unintended parallel, but strong enough to make you think a little more about the futurology analysis that society (mainly due to the new generations and the risks of our world) is moving again towards common goals that transcend generations and go beyond the individual. For me, the question was how this catedral thinking could still be interpreted in terms of our own times and opportunities. Of course there are contradictions, but I was nevertheless able to formulate some of the tasks in this way: 🔭 As leaders, our job is to support our team members to find individual success in common goals. And to give young people the vision and opportunities to address the issues and generational questions that are important to them. 💼 As managers, our task is to work along values that can contribute to society's goals in the long term. The strategy must be defined accordingly. 📈 As business developers, our task is to support the market and partners with services that will make them sustainable and successful in the longer term - moving from a one-way partnership to a business ecosystem. 🧍🏼♂️ And as humans, we have a duty to put the community's goals before our own: to be able to think and plan as a team and with a vision. Of course, the holidays are not spent working, but they are a time for similar questions... Thanks for the inspiration Andreas Meinheit, The Foresight Academy, AHK Ungarn - DUIHK - Német-Magyar Ipari és Kereskedelmi Kamara and Malta!

How might we show futures that are only just materializing? At Getty Images, imagining new-to-the-world content is an everyday occurance.   In part 3 of our video series on Creative Foresight, “VISUAL GPS”, we meet Dr. Rebecca Swift, SVP Global Head of Creative Insight at Getty Images, and get to know Getty Images’ tried and proven methods of creating images and visual aesthetics that are in line with as well as ahead of the Zeitgeist. How can we visualize the emerging role of A.I. in everyday life? How can images of participation foster real world representation? What role will synthesized images play in the future of visual aesthetics?   Rebecca demonstrates how different sources of information and insight steer the creative process, resulting in pictures of future needs and behaviors that consumers and companies find convicing, trustworthy, and beautiful.   Find the full video on youtube or visit Creative Foresight within our new Open Foresight section on our website (links in first comment below). #creativeforesight #foresightacademy #changingimagery #gettyimages

Futures start between the lines.    Believing in the power of collaboration, the Foresight Academy traveled to the House of Beautiful Business conference “Between the two of us” in Tangier. 700 guests from 40+ countries and 80 speakers and performers met here to illuminate how to lead a more responsible, peaceful, and bright way of living. The diverse mix of CEOs, academics, technologists, freelancers, entrepreneurs, social impact leaders, artists, and policymakers fostered rich dialogues and connections.     With some of our partners we presented our findings on how to build desirable futures – and how to transform foresight to action. Audi Business Innovation GmbH, Deutsche Telekom, E.ON, HORNBACH Baumarkt AG and Siemens showed how foresight empowers corporates to shape their future, build resilience, drive innovation, and create sustainable value for the long term. We call this Cathedral Thinking.     "Between the Two of Us" was a gathering to explore the dualities and contrasts shaping today's world of polycrisis and polyopportunity. Immersive and Experiential it is more than a traditional conference. Designed to engage the "body, heart, and mind" as individuals and as corporates. This gathering moves away from name tags and slide decks, focusing on humanistic, life-centered business.     Some topics coincided with our insights and the ways our trend receivers have been describing our futures. We found signals pointing to “South to North innovation” when Pelonomi Moiloa shared her views on trainig LLMs in languages from the African Continet and eloquently spoke to the innovative spirit that thrives in scarcity and has much to teach the world. Wakanyi Hoffman beautifully connected to “Revalue the Existing” with her charming interactive lesson on the power of Ubuntu. And last but not least Bayo Akomolafe inspired us with his musings on the power and limitations of our new artificial sparring partners, opening a window into our future “Expanding Realities”.    The choice of Tangier, a city "between the two" continents of Africa and Europe, was symbolic and tied perfectly into the exploration of dualities and contrast. Confronting the challenges of our time we both invite you to work in collective action and collaboration. Let us shift from "I" to "We" thinking, embracing joint creativity for the better of humanity and biodiversity.     And we take away many beautiful pictures. One of them: not bagel, but croissant (thank you 📚 Michael Bungay Stanier). The group culture at the event was standing in open croissant-curves, welcoming others at all times.    Will you implement the croissant culture? And which role will you play in shaping our beautiful futures? Strategy and execution in High Jewellery

I am sharing a few impressions from Talk at #alcova.milano workshop at Milan Design Week 2024 where I was invited to a very engaging round that discussed „Future narratives & artefacts of tomorrow - how do we want to live in 10 years?“ From a sustainable development perspective I really like the statement that „everything already exists“ we just have to put it together in a meaningful way so that we are not wasting even more resources. Ian Ferguson from PostlerFerguson Design showed very practical designs for everyday use where research leads to very tangible solutions. Judith Hufnagel from gravity GmbH lead us through the discussion with ease and a good sense of humor. Rupert Hofmann, The Foresight Academy made an inspiring introduction to the way how we develop a joint picture of the future. I also loved the fuzzy future statements from Cary Siress - who was reading a few statements from his upcoming book. There is another workshop today at 4pm, the weather is nice 😎the location stunning - people engaging 🙌 ALCOVA, Villa Bagatti Valsecchi, Room V8 Via Vittorio Emanuele II, 48, Varedo (IT) Bringing together foresight and platform thinking to start a conversation on the future of products, design, and value. Visit us during Milan Design Week 2024, April 15–21.
