About us
Foundation for a College Education’s mission is to increase the number of students of color from East Palo Alto and surrounding communities who graduate with a degree from a four-year college or university. FCE accomplishes its mission by providing free, comprehensive college access and retention services to its students and their families. FCE has a larger vision, which is to create a community where higher education is attainable. By engaging students and parents in our work, we foster the development of a community of learners who are equipped with the right tools, resources, and information to succeed. Our families play a pivotal role in sharing information with other families, thus catalyzing change in East Palo Alto and surrounding communities.

This has been a very special year as we celebrate our 14 College Success graduates. The class of 2024 began their college experience during the early months of the pandemic shutdown. Although they had to navigate their first years of college while also adjusting to virtual learning, they persevered and have now obtained their degrees. It is an incredible feeling of accomplishment for our team, as these college graduates have fulfilled our FCE mission. Please join us in congratulating Anya, one of our outstanding 2024 College Success graduates, and in wishing her success in the next chapter of her journey.

We want to give a huge thanks to Pivot for recently hosting FCE students for Career Day and providing an incredible experience that gave them valuable knowledge to help in their journey of exploring career paths. We look forward to the opportunity to do it again in the future!
It's been a busy summer here at Pivot! On July 31, our Santa Clara office hosted student for a Career Day in conjunction with the Foundation for a College Education. Participants toured the space and had the opportunity to hear from designers, account manager and operations personnel on careers in the design world. We also hosted Woods Bagot in Los Angeles on July 25 for a tour of our new design center. Finally, On July 9, Pivot joined with MillerKnoll for a live fireside chat with Kartik Hosanagar, a The Wharton School Professor and Co-Director of AI at Wharton, in San Francisco to discuss AI’s current state and future, focusing on its impact on creativity, business, and human skills.
