Congratulations to Jody Sweeney on her well-deserved retirement! Jody started part time at the Foundation 15 years ago, when Tools 4 Seminole Schools began, and is the longest serving Foundation employee. She became full time Store Assistant several years ago as the store continued to grow. Teachers are always happy to see Jody when they come in, and she has been a valued member of the team. Jody – we’re going to miss you and appreciate your dedication to our students and teachers!

At the school board meeting Tuesday night, over 23 of our amazing Take Stock in Children mentors were recognized in honor of National Mentoring Month. Our program overall has 109 mentors for our 115 students and we are so thankful for every single one of them and their passion for our program!   Interested in learning more about becoming a Take Stock Mentor? We are excited to open the application window for the 2025 Foundation for SCPS Senior Scholarships! Thanks to generous support from throughout the community, The Foundation is excited to facilitate and award over $150,000 in scholarships this spring.   Our list of scholarships include the Foundation Impact Jump Start Awards which is a Two-Year Florida Prepaid Scholarship valued at $6,750, one award per high school including Seminole Virtual School, several career related scholarships, and many more that range from $500 to $5,000!   The application deadline is March 17, 2025 but Seminole County Public Schools (tag SCPS) seniors don't delay, apply today! https://lnkd.in/egCPnRQJ   Please share to help spread the word!

Share your appreciation with Becky Miller, our Store Supervisor for Tools 4 Seminole Schools! Becky is celebrating 12 years with the Foundation, which she has spent ensuring our hard-working teachers have supplies for their students and classrooms. During her time with the Foundation, Becky has been responsible for several new program initiatives including supply bags for new teachers, expanded shopping eligibility, and a popular STEM supply corner.

Before the holidays, we invited our Superintendent's Circle Members to a lunch event at Seminole High School. After hearing from our Executive Director and the Superintendent, members were given the opportunity to tour the Academy of Health Careers program and participate in a fun hands-on experience! We hope that everyone who came out enjoyed a first hand look at what goes on in our schools!. Superintendent's Circle Members are individuals who donate $1,000+ to The Foundation's overall mission.
