Celebrating a breakthrough for water security on the Texas Coast: TCEQ approves the permit for the first municipal seawater desalination facility project in #Texas. The original permit application was submitted in 2020 for a roughly 30 million gallon per day seawater desalination facility at the Corpus Christi Inner Harbor – an environmentally conscious, climate-resilient water supply solution for #CorpusChristi and the Texas Coastal Bend, areas that have been experiencing unprecedented extreme drought conditions. Freese and Nichols has been supporting the City of Corpus Christi’s #water supply development for many years and leading its seawater desalination program for nearly a decade. Jason Cocklin, PE, BCEE, water and wastewater treatment engineer and Project Manager, is pictured at the Texas Capital with Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo, Chief Operating Officer Andrew Molly and others from the City of Corpus Christi and Corpus Christi Water. We are proud to be a part of such an innovative project that will benefit future generations of Texans.
