Thank you to the amazing school administrators in #FremontUnified! Our principals and assistant principals do so much - often while working with too little time and resources - because they are dedicated to our students, families, and the outstanding staff at each of our schools. Yesterday we snapped photos of our administrators as they were leaving a late meeting, but it wasn’t necessarily the end of the workday! Athletics, community events, student activities, balanced budget meetings - on any given evening, our administrators are still going strong to serve their schools! This is the Week of the #SchoolAdministrator in California, and we thank each of our outstanding administrators for their caring and dedicated leadership.

HELLO to Horner Middle School (and everyone in #FremontUnified)! This week the Hornets are promoting safe schools and coming together against violence by celebrating Start with Hello week. Thanks to Principal Cindy Hicks-Rodriguez and to the AP team - Harry Pabley, Sean Davis, and Jennifer DeFrance - for supporting this event! #StartWithHelloWeek activities help build a culture of inclusivity and empathy and empowers students to end social isolation. This week week students could create personal "Hello Style" handshakes, take positive notes that stated what they needed (such as "I need a hug"), wear green as a symbol of unity and solidarity, and give thank you notes to a trusted adult of their choice. Tomorrow students can wear hats to show they are upstanders who know that when we SEE SOMETHING, we need to SAY SOMETHING. Go Hornets! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ggQ5aKH

We loved seeing #FremontUnified walking and rolling yesterday for International Walk and Roll to School Day! Thank you to the students, families and staff who participated, and the many volunteers who helped guide students and welcomed them to school! We loved seeing our Board Trustees and staff, elected officials from City of Fremont and AC Transit, Fremont Police Department School Resource Officers, and leaders from around our community supporting our students! Thanks to Alameda County Safe Routes to Schools Program for coordinating, and thanks to Maloney, Hirsch and Oliveira elementary schools (shout out to Principals Christopher Wood, Christina Arroyo and Linda Anderson) for sharing these photos! Whether or not you participate in #IWR2SD, please consider getting to school or work via active or shared transportation on a regular basis. Fremont offers resources to find the best route to #WalkAndRoll to our schools, learn more at https://lnkd.in/gt8Gh74f.

This week, Superintendent Erik Burmeister celebrated his 100th day as FUSD's superintendent in Mrs. Helm's kindergarten class at Leitch Elementary. After 100 days, he reflected on the many strengths #FremontUnified has going for it, and those places where FUSD's leadership team will need to focus their energies to secure Fremont Unified's success in the future. The first and most obvious challenge is FUSD's budget. Please read the whole post at https://lnkd.in/gUic-Tea
