FVB’s Annual Scholarship Dinner was especially celebratory this year with 40 of our wonderful team members receiving scholarships! Friendship Village of Bloomington leads Lifespace Communities in the number and amount given. Lisa Dagher, Director of Gift Planning, Marlon Walker, HR Director, Virginia Olson, FVB Chair of the Foundation, and David Miller, Executive Director, all thanked the residents for their outstanding support. One of the returning graduates spoke of her gratitude as well as many current students. At the end of the evening, the students handed out notes of thanks designed with their school’s mascot. We are indeed a community / family who celebrates together and supports each other!

Meet our first graduating class of FVB University! A group of 10 team members were guided through a year of learning leadership skills. They spent time in discussion groups, study, and working alongside department leaders in the community. Friendship Village believes in supporting each team member in their personal and professional growth. Learning and growing are key values in our community. We truly believe our success starts within.

Announcing our June Team Member of The Month - Rose Grout. Rose is one of our Full-Time Receptionists over in Highwood Park. Rose was nominated by another team member. This individual wrote: “Rose shows up every day representing the Living Lifespace attitude. I know from the times I’ve seen her, even under pressure, she stays positive. She is really good at multitasking when she has multiple people waiting to sign in, answering phone calls, or even letting guests into Red Pine. If she gets the chance, she even cleans up the main lobby area.” Congratulations Rose on winning Team Member of The Month! FVB appreciates all that you do!

#NationalNursesWeek recognizes the contributions of nurses and the care, compassion, and clinical expertise they demonstrate on a daily basis. They also advocate for residents, offer comfort during tough times, and provide clinical education to team members. To start off #nursesweek, we want to spotlight one of our many nurses who make a difference in the lives of our residents. Michael Bass is Director, Nursing at our Meadow Lake #seniorliving community. His mother, also a nurse, inspired his career choice. Thank you to Michael and all nurses for your dedication and all that you do! You make the difference! #LivingLifespace #CCRC

Samantha Daniels is our Team Member of The Month of May 2024. Sam is our Custodian Lead at FVB and was nominated by another team member. The team member stated that Sam always goes above and beyond the duty to ensure the residents know that they are in great hands! “Her presence just makes FVB one of the best places to live at and her team knows that she cares.” Thank you, Sam, for everything you do at Friendship Village. The team and the residents appreciate you!

Brandon Gustafson is our Team Member of the Month of April 2024. Brandon is one of our full-time Safety & Security Officers and was nominated by one of our team members: “In the most challenging times, Brandon is always very professional, kind and calm. Brandon deals with may emergencies. He comforts the residents in those hard moments. When Brandon is not on an emergency, he is really fun and funny! He makes an impression on everyone he meets. We are lucky to have him here at FVB.” FVB appreciates you Brandon for all that you do! Congratulations on being April's Team Member of the Month!
