Our Village on the Green culinary and sales team members recently teamed up for the Senior Chef Showdown, a friendly battle of the taste buds that benefits a local charity. The second year of the Showdown challenged chefs from central Florida #seniorliving communities to provide delectable dishes that had to include the challenge ingredient – corn. Chef George served an elevated version of a classic corn cake topped with smoked pheasant with a corn whiskey glaze, accompanied by a fall salad featuring heirloom tomatoes. Village on The Green was recognized as one of the top dishes of the evening! #CCRC #LivingLifespace

Today kicks off National Falls Prevention Week! Improving our balance is key to reducing our risk of falling. Our Fitness Teams across our communities offer different services to our residents that align with their current fitness level, helping them to remain fit and reduce their risk of falling. At our Friendship Village of Bloomington #seniorliving community, the Fitness Team offers group strength and balance classes three days a week in the studio, as well as individual personal training to help residents maintain and improve core strength and flexibility. Residents can also receive a complimentary balance assessment with a licensed physical or occupational therapist. Improving strength and balance is necessary, but it also can be fun, as our residents at Friendship Village of Bloomington show! What are you doing to prevent your risk of falling? #fallspreventionweek #CCRC
