In January, we proudly named Officer Christopher Abbott as the “GameChanger of the Year” for the incredible impact he made on his community. Through his dedication and passion, Officer Abbott has touched the lives of countless young athletes and their families, leaving a lasting legacy in youth sports. Recently, we traveled to Glenwood, lowa, to hear firsthand how Christopher transformed youth sports in his hometown. His story is a powerful reminder of how one person can truly make a difference. On this #NationalCoachesDay, we are excited to share how Christopher did just that. Last week, GameChanger was proud to see Henry Street Settlement's Athletics and Community Enrichment Services program (A.C.E.S.) receive a $25,000 grant from our parent company, DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation, as part of the 10th-anniversary celebration of their incredible #SportsMatter program! GameChanger teammates nominated Henry Street after partnering with them numerous times and witnessing their incredible impact on the New York community. With over 125 years of service to NYC’s Lower East Side, Henry Street’s A.C.E.S. program provides local youth opportunities to thrive through sports, mentorship, and academic support. This grant will help them expand these critical services to even more young athletes. We’re honored to support their mission and look forward to seeing the continued positive impact on local youth. #DSGLife #ItsOnGameChanger #VolunteeringIsAGameChanger

Our very own Sarah Schell will be moderating a panel on sports analytics at the Michigan Sport Business Conference in October. The student-run conference in beautiful Ann Arbor is a “must attend” for anyone interested in sports business. https://lnkd.in/gZicZF5g

The Michigan Sport Business Conference is excited to announce its next moderator, Sarah Schell! Sarah Schell is VP of Data, Analytics, and Marketing for New York-based GameChanger, a DICK’S Sporting Goods sports technology company. In this role, she is responsible for leading and overseeing the marketing and data-related functions within the organization. This includes collecting, managing, analyzing, and interpreting data from the over 7M+ games and 750K youth sports teams on GameChanger each year. Since joining the team in 2016, Sarah has transformed how the organization leverages data. Under her guidance, the data and analytics team has expanded from two to 15 teammates, firmly establishing data as a critical factor in the organization's decision-making process. Her love for GameChanger is rooted in the joy of seeing young people grow and develop through sports. Sarah currently resides in Brooklyn with her partner Amelia and daughter Naomi.

Big congratulations to the Little League International team for their Championship Game being the most-watched since 2015! 👏 While millions tuned in to watch the action unfold on TV throughout the week, we had iconic ESPN broadcaster Tim Kurkjian and his son Jeff Kurkjian on the mic to record their podcast, ‘Is This a Great Game, or What,’ live from our activation on-site with DICK'S Sporting Goods. ⚾ Check out the episode, which features a wildly entertaining interview with LLWS-legend, Todd Frazier. Another Little League International World Series has come and gone, and we have a new champion! Congratulations to the Lake Mary All-Stars (Florida) for taking the title with a thrilling 2-1 extra-innings victory against Chinese Taipei. Even before the LLWS, the Lake Mary team was making waves, becoming the second most followed team on GameChanger with over 2,000 fans. During their championship run, their score updates via GC were viewed over 3.5 million times. 👀 ❗ Crazy stat: according to their profile on GC, this powerhouse 12U team hit 24 home runs in their 18 games this summer before the LLWS! 😱 #itsongamechanger #youthsports #llws
