The Bayou Meto Water Management District's Marion Berry Pump Station, a project decades in the making, reached a significant milestone earlier this month with a ceremonial first pump, highlighting the station’s progress and future impact. When completed, the pump station will provide surface water from the Arkansas River to farmers across eastern and central Arkansas, reducing reliance on declining groundwater resources. The project is a vital step toward safeguarding water accessibility for future generations of farmers, and its recent progress was made possible through the support of the Office of U.S. Senator John Boozman and the congressional delegation. Garver is thankful for this ongoing partnership and looks forward to continuing to support water sustainability efforts across the state. Learn more: bit.ly/3YvMhpc
