The largest family shelter in Missouri. We empower adults and families to become independent and permanently housed.
About us
Gateway180 is the largest Residential Emergency Shelter in the State of Missouri, serving women, children, and families experiencing homelessness. It is our G180 mission to empower adults and families to become independent and permanently housed. We provide a temporary home for 150 women and children daily and provide a clean, safe bed in a nurturing environment in response to an individual’s need for emergency shelter. All shelter residents have access to 3 meals daily, day services, children’s programs, and newly offered on-site counseling services. Through our Case Management and Empowerment Programs, we transition individuals and families from the trauma of needing emergency shelter, to preparing for the independence of permanent housing and housing stability. Gateway180 also operates client choice Rapid Rehousing Programs. Our Rapid Rehousing Programs enable us to rehouse and provide financial and case management support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the St. Louis community. In a typical year, we serve roughly 1,000 individuals, representing roughly 400 households, in our Residential Emergency Shelter Program, and roughly 700 individuals, or 280 households per year during the COVID pandemic. In addition, annually, we serve 125 individuals, representing 50 households in our scattered-site, Rapid Rehousing Program. The organization is committed to the principles of "Housing First" and to evidence-based practices in homeless services including, trauma-informed care, client-centered care, and critical time intervention.

✨Meet Our 2024 Gala Chairpersons – Katie Lee & Anna Tegethoff!✨ Gateway180 is proud to have Katie & Anna as co-chairs for our 2024 “Open Your Heart for the Homeless” Gala. Katie Lee, owner of Katie’s Pizza & Pasta, is a mother and St. Louis native. For the past 17 years, Katie’s name has become synonymous with delicious food in the community, but there is much more to her than her successful chain of restaurants and frozen food line. The “Giveback Tuesday” program at her restaurants is the perfect illustration of Katie's philanthropic spirit, giving 100% of the proceeds from the last Tuesday of every month to local charities. Gateway180 was the first organization to be the recipient back in 2016, as a thank you to her dear friends, Mike and Andy Stokes (former and current Gateway180 board members). Katie’s own struggle with addiction & homelessness makes our mission one that is deeply personal to her. When she invited her friend, Anna Tegethoff, to attend our gala a few years back, she never could have imagined the love and support Anna would pour into Gateway180. Anna Tegethoff, Director of Philanthropy at Tegethoff Development, jumped in headfirst to support Gateway180. In just the couple of years that Anna has been involved with the charity, she has become an instrumental member of our gala committee, and now our event chair alongside Katie. Anna has used her platform within Tegethoff Development and her own community to spread the word about Gateway180 and our mission. As a mother to two young girls (one born this summer), she has a passion for helping mothers who are struggling, especially those who are experiencing homelessness. We are grateful for their hard work and passion to make this event a success and for their continual support of Gateway’s mission to empower our women and families to become independent and permanently housed. Join us on Friday, November 8, 2024, to be a part of our 16th Annual "Open Your Heart for the Homeless: A Night in Neverland" Gala!
