As the testing of the Global 8000 nears completion, Bombardier has announced that construction of the first production model of this ultra-long-range business jet is now underway. Unlike the modified Global 7500s used for testing, this will be the first Global 8000 built from scratch. During NBAA-BACE 2024 last week, Bombardier’s president and CEO, Éric Martel, shared that the certification process is going smoothly, with nearly 300 hours of testing completed. The Global 8000 will offer incredible performance—8,000 nautical miles of range, a top speed of Mach 0.94, and the smoothest ride in the industry. With service entry expected in late 2025, Bombardier also announced a retrofit kit for Global 7500 owners to bring their aircraft to 8000 standards, which will be available at Bombardier service centers. Have you seen the 8000?

Exciting developments are on the horizon at Universal Avionics! Following their 2023 Grand Challenge, the company is now showcasing groundbreaking AI-driven technology at NBAA-BACE 2024. One of the highlighted innovations is an AI system that enhances pilots’ situational awareness during taxiing by analyzing external camera feeds, audio, and ADS-B In data. This AI taps into the FAA-certified Aperture visual management system, providing clear, real-time visual cues on flight deck displays, including Universal’s SkyLens head-wearable display. Join us in wishing Bell Flight a happy anniversary as it was #OTD in 1994 that the prototype Bell Model 430 took its first flight at Bell Helicopter Textron’s facility in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada. This twin-engine helicopter was a major advancement in helicopter design, being the first to be certified for single-pilot instrument flight without a stability augmentation system. Developed from the Model 230, the Bell 430 featured a four-bladed, semi-rigid rotor system that improved performance and safety. Have you ever flown in one?
