Earlier this month, we had the privilege of hosting our annual Girls Who Lead Summer Externship, where 80 high school girls traveled to various STEAM companies across San Diego. This immersive experience provided students with the unique opportunity to tour cutting-edge laboratories, engage directly with women in leadership roles, and delve into potential careers in the life sciences. Throughout the externship, students were inspired by the hands-on experiences and real-world insights that are crucial for preparing the next generation of scientists. We are immensely grateful to our sponsors for making this invaluable opportunity possible, empowering these young women to envision and pursue their future in STEAM. Special thanks to our supporters of the program: Avidity Biosciences, Inc. Bristol Myers Squibb, Hologic, Inc., Illumina, Eli Lilly and Company, Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc, Poseida Therapeutics, Inc., Qualcomm, REVA Medical, LLC., SOLV Energy and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
