At #GenserEnergy, we believe practical learning is key to developing local talent and investing in the future of energy. We recently welcomed Engineering students from University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa (UMaT) to our Receiving and Regulating Station in Prestea, where they explored the role our pipeline network plays in power generation. The training, led by Korshiwor Atsiku-Dogbatsey, our Shift Charge Engineer and proud UMaT graduate, offered valuable hands-on insights, highlighting our commitment to education and skills development. Were you part of the tour? Let us know in the comments what your favourite part of the experience was!

We were thrilled to join the Society Of Petroleum Engineers (SPE UMaT-Chapter) in celebrating their 10th anniversary and first-ever Career Fair. Held on 16 August at the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa under the theme "Empowering the Next Generation: Innovating for a Sustainable Energy Future", the event was a great opportunity for us to engage with students, share industry insights and explore career paths in the energy sector together. During a panel discussion on empowering the next generation, Tometta Bright-Davies, Senior Business Development Associate, emphasized the importance of developing transferable skills and encouraged students, especially women, to explore diverse career opportunities within the industry. Henry Abeiku Oppong, Vice President Operations: Natural Gas Pipeline, shared his #GenserEnergy journey from National Service Personnel to Vice President, highlighting the value of cultural adaptability and effective communication. Our HR and Administration colleagues Paulo Agamah and Christyne Adedey Pampoe provided practical tips on crafting standout job applications and navigating a career in the energy sector. We were also pleased to have Ebenezer Adu Asare join us at the Career Fair, representing SEO Africa, our recruitment partner for our Graduate Trainee Programme. Genser Energy is proud to support initiatives that foster educational growth and professional development. Many thanks to #SPEUMaT for hosting us.

Today in our #GenserLife series, we're inspired by Tometta Bright-Davies, Senior Business Development Associate. With a degree in Civil Engineering, Tometta joined Genser Energy through our Graduate Trainee Programme in 2019. During the 18-month rotation, she began as an Assistant Construction Supervisor on our natural gas pipeline projects, then moved to an Assistant Operations Engineer role at one of our power plants, and also gained experience in Business Development. After completing the rotation, Tometta transitioned into a permanent role with the Business Development team. Currently, Tometta manages key client relationships and leads a talented team in conducting feasibility studies, developing proposals, and coordinating projects. Her contributions have been essential in supporting the installation of two meteorological masts, which are crucial for the development of our flagship wind power plant in Ghana.
