In the restoration of this monument and its adjacent areas, George Sexton Associates played a pivotal role by providing specialized lighting design services for the D.C. War Memorial. Addressing the intricacies of the project, GSA successfully replaced the cove lighting beneath the lower dome, navigating the challenges of emulating the monument's historic incandescent glow while ensuring fixtures remained inconspicuous from the bandstand below. Committed to preserving historical integrity, GSA's design meticulously followed the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties, safeguarding the monument's legacy and recognition as a historic landmark. The Dining Pavilion at the Wormsley Estate, home to the Garsington Opera in Buckinghamshire, UK, houses Jeff Koons' "Cracked Egg" sculpture. It is an entertainment space accessed via a footbridge, offering a modern reinterpretation of 18th-century pavilions. The pavilion features a dimmable luminous ceiling, flexible halogen slot lighting, and a bridge indirectly illuminated by linear LEDs reflecting off of the water. The extending luminous ceiling on the veranda creates a floating effect in the evening.
