Today, the Georgia Research Alliance Innovation and Entrepreneurship team attended the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Investor Catalyst Hub Southeast regional #spokemeetup at Georgia Tech and Science Square Atlanta. The #buzz surrounding new #startups and the advancement of innovation in the Southeast region is palpable. It’s always rewarding to connect with exceptional partners from our local ecosystem and to meet new collaborators from beyond Atlanta. Notably, 75% of the startup pitches received prior funding from the Georgia Research Alliance. Thanks for all the shout-outs from our teams! GRA is actively convening teams from across Georgia, and we would love to introduce researchers to potential commercialization-focused collaborations. #BetOnGeorgia #Atlanta Edward Lai, MPH Courtney L. Only one energy expert from academia was invited to serve on a team advising the U.S. on modernizing the delivery of electricity — GRA Eminent Scholar Deepak Divan of Georgia Institute of Technology. Divan is part of a 40-member advisory group named by Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm to provide senior-level counsel on addressing major energy challenges confronting the U.S. Among them: the reliability, resilience and security of the nation’s electric grid. A renowned expert on advanced power electronics and grid-related research, Divan co-authored (with Suresh Sharma) the book “Energy 2040: Aligning Innovation, Economic and Decarbonization.” Congrats to Deepak on this high honor! https://bit.ly/4f24PDi
