From starting the company in my small one bedroom apartment in Manhattan, to navigating through covid, and falling down over and over again to get right back up… I would not have changed the journey for a second. I’d say the biggest mistake I made early on was not defining our culture. I thought I could delegate culture so I could focus on “product” or “sales”. BIG BIG mistake. Take the time to think really hard on what you stand for as a company. Define those things into 3-7 core values. Explain each value with 4-5 short bullet points, and communicate that over and over again to your team. Hire on those values. Promote on those values. And fire anyone who does not align with those values (I promise it will be better for them, so they can find a place that does align with their values). And my favorite part? We’re just getting started baby 🚀
