    E-Com Investor & Podcast Host | Multiple Exits| Avid Golfer, Biker + Hiker | Dad Of 3 | CEO + CMO | Mastermind Host

Did you know that lululemon sold 171,588 of their Everywhere Belt Bag Feb 1st- March 31st 2023? And that it was their top seller during that time period?? This checks out to me - we sold a TONNE of Fanny packs at Keep Nature Wild - couldn't keep them in stock! (not that many though haha) Let me start with this today... 👇 I am incredibly picky about who sponsors the Secrets To Scaling Your E-commerce Brand podcast... When a sponsor reaches out - I personally either go and vet the product myself or... lot's of times I am already a user of the product! I say no to 1/2 sponsors. In this case... I hadn't even heard of Particl BUT I WISH I HAD back in 2015 when I got into E-commerce especially in apparel! I was just playing around with the demo feature on their home page - and it shows EVERYTHING you could want to know about what is selling... all of your competitors. Here are my top 4 favourite feautures 💸 Competitive Pricing Analysis: See what competitors are charging, and adjust your pricing in real time. This is crazy alone! 🌱 Spot Product Trends: Get the latest on emerging product trends in your industry. Imagine being able to see what products are taking off and then create a version of your own? 👀 Visual Market Comparisons: Compare pricing, attributes, availability—all visually. 🔍 SKU-Level Detail: Deep dive into SKU-level data. The more you know, the more you can act. Ok... anyway - I haven't been this excited about a Podcast sponsor in a while haha Go check them out at https://lnkd.in/gEtympxH

Scaling Operations for High-Growth Brands like Passenger, Jaded LDN, and Wild using tailored Airtable Solutions

I've been actively engaged in ecommerce tech for 10+ years. Here are some lesser-known startups I am excited about right now. Two Boxes is the missing link between your returns platforms like Loop, ReturnGO, and Swap. Their solution takes in your RMAs and provides your antiquated 3PL with a slick no-code workflow app to manage the processing of returns into stock. This would be an excellent addition to anyone running Descartes Peoplevox or any 3PLs with a big backlog of returns...ALL OF YOU 😉 Particl. The Exploding Trends newsletter hooked me, and I don't run an ecommerce brand. I can't imagine it's easy to turn this subscription off once your merchandising and trendsetters get settled in. Reveni. I wrote about instant refunds 1.5 years ago, and these guys popped up right after. It's interesting to see more prominent brands like ME+EM Ltd migrating from what I guess are now legacy returns solutions to their differentiated proposition. Giftnote. Gifting for Shopify. Agency-owners turned app builders. They've nailed the gifting workflow to enable you to turn gift receivers into customers and tackle corporate gifting. Paccurate. In ten years of selling warehouse software, I thought a lot about the need for what this team has made. Their software calculates the exact packing configuration for every product combination and sends it to your WMS via API. Flare - Future Delivery. Sometimes, you want to buy something but don’t need it immediately. Shopify usually makes you pay and ship immediately. What I love about Flare's order scheduling is that it solves this for the 5-10% of purchases where timing matters. Think wedding or baby registries, furniture for a renovation, or flowers for a birthday—things you want to be reserved but delivered later. heatmap. This one is outside my core focus on the back office; it doesn't even come in contact with it, but the leading indicators from the market are going off big time. The agencies I trust use it, and Pari Passu Venture Partners invested in the Series A. Brij. I shouted about this app a few weeks ago. What I love about BRIJ is that their solution bridges the gap between online and offline (get the name now?). There are some crazy case studies about brands converting 80% of Wholesale customers into known customers. Finally, here is a wildcard I'd like to know more about. Implentio, Inc. I know reconciling invoices from carriers, 3PLs, etc., is a serious pain point for Operators. If you can spot mistakes humans would have missed, you can make big $$$$ savings. I have seen many low/no-code tools that use AI to take in data like this and surface it, but this is a specialised solution. I would love to chat with anyone who's using this right now. #techstacks #ecommerce #operators

The most insightful Black Friday ebook this year? I think it just might be! Team Particl have brought together a whole heap of data, and done a great job of interpreting it for us. A lot is based on the data they can see in the Particl database, as collected from their own customers. So you're not going to get this anywhere else. Here are my takeaways… 📏 Going to be longer Anticipating up to 3 month long campaigns 💰 We're back in control Retailers will have a more considered slow build in discounts rather than the crazy race to the bottom of recent years, leading to better overall margin performance across the season. 💸 Discount Strategy Blanket discount strategies really do drive sales volume, but executing a campaign where you tier your discounts (picking which products to reduce by what %age) can bring the highest uplift, AND puts you in charge of what gets sold, and how much margin you give away. 💡 This discount strategy section of the ebook (chapter 3, pages 13-18) is worth the download on its own - a must-consume for anyone in charge of discount strategy. 💡 My takeaways from the product category chapter wouldn't fit into the LinkedIn word count 😂, and I don't think they'd do the content justice anyway - so please go and download the ebook and interrogate the data. #ShoppingAndTheRetailIndustry #eBook #MarketingStrategy

How has inflation affected e-commerce brand's pricing over the last year? The average price in products tracked in the Apparel & Accessories market jumped from $96 to $110 over the past year. 📈 Not all brands follow the same trend though. Take Lululemon for example: $86 → $88 over the last year. Despite the market's upward trend, they've kept prices almost flat. Now look at Skims: $46 → $41 over the same period. 📉 Surprisingly, their average price has decreased! Brands navigate inflation differently: some cut costs, others innovate or add value to keep customers and market share. 🎃 Halloween is one of the most underrated selling opportunities for brands. Spooky 👻 Recently we saw Simple Modern launch a Halloween collection in late August. Their Halloween style tumblers have been their top sellers over the past month and have added over $500k in revenue.
