About us
Gift of Life Marrow Registry facilitates blood stem cell and bone marrow transplants for children and adults battling life-threatening diseases, including leukemia, lymphoma, sickle cell and other genetic disorders. Gift of Life is a leading national bone marrow and stem cell registry that serves patients all over the world seeking donors for transplants. It was founded during the grass roots efforts to save the life of New Jersey leukemia patient Jay Feinberg, and has grown to become a leading global registry. Gift of Life is accredited by the World Marrow Donor Association, and is an affiliate donor registry of the National Marrow Donor Program and participant in the international Bone Marrow Donors Worldwide registry. Gift of Life added an in-house apheresis center in 2019 and cellular therapy laboratory in 2020, ensuring its commitment to quality and consistency every step of the way.

Thank Idan for inspiring others to get swabbed!! For our Hyper IgM patients, a bone marrow transplant is currently the only potential curative treatment and we thank all the marrow registries, like Gift of Life Marrow Registry for their tireless work adding donors to their lists and helping save the lives of many of our patients.
On this World Marrow Donor Day, Akiva and I would like to thank Gift of Life Marrow Registry for saving our son Idan's life, and for inviting him to speak at Gift of Life's annual gala in LA. Never too soon to start advocating for noble causes, Idan walked bravely up to the podium to speak (to a room filled with a few hundred guests, no big deal) about his connection to this incredible organization. He had a chance to personally thank the Adelson family while on stage for funding the Taglit-Birthright Israel bone marrow donor drive that ultimately led to his donor Alex saving his life. At only 12 years old, Idan knows a thing or two about bravery, having undergone two bone marrow transplants and successfully battling Hyper IgM, an extremely rare and life-threatening immune deficiency. We are brimming with pride as he uses his experience to help advocate for other lives to be saved - starting with the simple act of a cheek swab. It was a big trip out to LA, and we had the chance to spend part of the day sightseeing in Santa Monica - even had a celebrity sighting at our new favorite Sushi spot! All things Akiva and I wouldn't have dared doing with Idan before he was cured. Meet Adam, the hero who swabbed during 2021’s World Marrow Donor Day and went on to meet his recipient, Lori, in 2023. 🦸🏼♂️ As an undergraduate electrical engineering student at Tufts University, Adam came across a World Marrow Donor Day recruitment drive organized by Gift of Life’s Campus Ambassadors. 💭“I decided to throw my hat in the ring – it was an easy decision to swab, and it only took a moment. I’m glad I did! Donating is one of the things I’m most proud of in my life,” Adam shared. ⏩ Fast forward to 2023: Lori, an elementary school teacher who survived acute myeloid leukemia, met her lifesaving stem cell donor, Adam, at a Boston @redsox game. #ThankYouDonor!
