About us
Are you a professional health care provider with patients suffering from IBS or another GI disorder? Are your patient’s relationships, career or school being negatively affected by the devastating effects on symptoms and pain? “We were at the point of removing his colon until our second opinion from Hopkins suggested we explore the brain/gut connection. His therapy has been an absolute game changer.” If these are the results you’d like for your patients and if other past treatments have provided limited, or no relief, I’d like to share how GI Psychology can help. We are a team of highly experienced clinicians with demonstrated success in treating a number of gastrointestinal, gut-brain interactions as well as other medical and psychological conditions. Our clinicians have advanced training and experience in delivering the gold-standard of care. Below are areas we most commonly treat: Anxiety Chronic Pain Depression Disorders of the Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBI); Also referred to as Functional GI Disorders Dyspepsia Centrally Mediated Abdominal Pain Syndrome Enuresis Functional Abdominal Pain/Bloating/Distension Functional Dysphagia, Dyspepsia, Constipation, Diarrhea and Fecal Incontinence Functional Nausea Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) Insomnia and Sleep Disturbance IBD IBS Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Panic Attacks/Panic Disorder Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) We provide therapy using an integrative framework that pulls from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Clinical Hypnosis. An individualized treatment approach is provided that recognizes personal strengths, measurable goals, and actively practicing skills to be utilized as needed.
