As our team works to build the world's most experienced fundraiser, it's important to define the criteria of success for autonomous fundraising. Each of these five milestones are measurable steps to track success: #1 - Secure Early Gifts #2 - Self Sustainability #3 - Exceed Last Year's Portfolio Performance #4 - Match and Exceed Expectations for a Traditional Fundraiser #5 - Generate Major Gift Pipeline and Close Multi-Year Gifts Over the coming days and weeks, we'll go more in-depth into each of these milestones, achievements, and progress toward each. #AI #AutonomousFundraising #AGI #philanthropytech #nptech #fundraising

An amazing guide to donor retention, written from the perspective of our resident SYBUNT, Steve Fiske.
Apologies to my fundraising peers, but I am a lapsed donor. I share this detail because I believe my perspective as a lapsed donor is an extremely common story that any nonprofit organization can relate to (within your file of LYBUNTs and SYBUNTs). I intend to give every year to my alma mater, but life is busy, I have other causes I support, and consequently, there are years I don’t get to it. There are annual attempts to solicit my gift, they come in the form of giving day appeals, general mailings, and occasionally an email from athletics (I support crew). The fact is that these are not compelling or consistent enough to make it happen every year. From where I sit, the answer to my own retention is super obvious. If I were asked to confirm a multi-year pledge, it would stand above the noise and be a timely reminder to do what I intend – give. It would feel terrific to uplevel my support and it would solve my problem of forgetting to make a donation for a cause I care deeply about. I recently wrote a guide about donor retention and the power of multi-year pledges. I'd be honored if you would take a moment to read about lapsed donors from the perspective of one and consider the advice within on how organizations can dramatically improve donor retention rates.
