The Rural Water Capacity Needs Assessment answered a lot of questions about the rural water workforce. It also uncovered areas of further research. One of the areas that need more research is about job creation. Here are the key questions to consider: 💧 How are these rural water jobs created? 💧 Who are the entities responsible for hiring (if any)? 💧 What are the costs associated with these jobs? 💧 How is demand for these jobs created? 💧 If demand is created, can entrepreneurs take on these jobs? 💧 How can we develop competencies and hire locally to overcome the unwillingness to work rurally? If you were researching this, which question would you start with? Tell us below! Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gb_BS-Xt Tomorrow, you will hear what Global Water Center, Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST), and Rural Water Supply Network (RWSN) plan to do with these findings. #research #GlobalWaterCenter #rural #water

The Rural Water Capacity Needs Assessment represents an important step toward understanding the rural water workforce. As GWC focuses on professionalizing the rural water sector, this report will guide our work. ➡️ Follow along over the next few days as we share highlights from the report. "Karibuni" means "Welcome" in Swahili. GWC team members Benjamin F. and Kogi Chege enjoyed a warm welcome at the United Nations Office at Nairobi. This office is also the United Nations headquarters in Africa. Our team was grateful for a good meeting with a UNICEF regional representative. Thank you for the warm welcome, and we look forward to visiting again! #UnitedNations #GlobalWaterCenter #Welcome #Karibuni #Collaboration
