Your leading resource for transportation information and options in Washington, DC.
About us
goDCgo is an initiative of the District Department of Transportation (DDOT). As part of DDOT’s commitment to moving people and goods around DC as cleanly and efficiently as possible, goDCgo was created to provide employees, residents and visitors with the education and assistance they need to make more informed choices about traveling in the District. goDCgo focuses on the reduction of the drive-alone rate and promotes the use of more sustainable modes of transportation, such as bicycling, walking, carpooling, vanpooling and using public transit. Our website outlines an array of options for getting into and around the city and provides you with resources to help plan your special trip or regular travel using a mode that minimizes your impact on the District’s streets and our environment. The goDCgo team regularly attends events in the District to further promote our cause and educate the public about the benefits of using alternatives to driving alone. Our goDCgo Employer Services consultants work within the business community to encourage similar behavior by employees who commute to the District for work and travel to business meetings and appointments throughout the day. By partnering with businesses, as well as organizations such as hospitals and universities, we are able to provide information and resources on a larger scale. Employers can influence the way employees think about their daily commutes by implementing programs that encourage greater use of sustainable transportation modes. At goDCgo we assist employers by helping them craft programs to suit the needs of their employees. Popular programs include transit subsidies, telework programs and alternative work schedules, all of which significantly reduce dependency on single-occupant car travel. In collaboration with neighboring Arlington County, the goDCgo program helps decrease traffic congestion, improve air quality and create a better quality of life in the metropolitan Washington, DC region.

The goDCgo team had a blast at the 38th Annual Association for Commuter Transportation International Conference in Denver! We were proud to win the Commuting Options Award (Best Overall Program) for our Transportation All-Star program, which recognizes District organizations for their exemplary efforts to promote the use of sustainable transportation. Several members of our team spoke at the conference, sharing their insights on topics including combatting transportation barriers for shift-based workers, residential TDM programs, social media marketing, and bike mobility in underserved populations. We had a great time connecting with our colleagues in #TDM and look forward to next year's conference in New Orleans! #ACT24
