God's Love We Deliver

In celebration of our birthday month - God’s Love was founded on May 1st, 1985 - we collaborated with Tony Award Winner Bonnie Milligan, along with Broadway stars Arielle Jacobs, Bradley Gibson, and Zachary Noah Piser to create “Delivering Love,” our latest music video! Our parody of “Seasons of Love” from the legendary musical RENT calls back to the AIDS crisis in New York City, when God’s Love was founded to feed those who were homebound with AIDS. Having grown to cook and home-deliver more than 4 million meals annually, we address over 200 individual diagnoses with our medically tailored meals. Our core commitments have remained at the heart of who we are: delivering meals to everyone who need us, never having a waitlist, and delivering meals the next delivery day. On National Be an Angel Day, our longest serving volunteer is on the national news! Nearly 30 years ago, our volunteer Tat joined a field trip to God’s Love We Deliver to prepare meals for our clients, and has been with us ever since. Today, Tat has given more than 34,200 hours of volunteer service, more than any volunteer in our history. Our volunteer network is comprised of tens of thousands of dedicated individuals and Tat sets a unique example for us all. This morning, God’s Love President & CEO David Ludwigson joined Google as they rang the #OpeningBell at Nasdaq to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their IPO 🔔👏 We are grateful for Google’s partnership and proud to host their team members in our kitchen. Thank you to Torrence Boone and Angela Pinsky for inviting us to celebrate this great milestone!

Today, we honor our Chief Human Resources Officer Marla Hassner as she concludes seven years at God’s Love We Deliver! Over the course of her tenure, Marla has been a champion in ensuring everyone who interacts with God’s Love feels welcomed and supported. Notably, during the COVID-19 epidemic, Marla worked to form new policies for all areas of our operations to protect the safety of our staff, volunteers, and clients. This ensured that we we never missed a delivery day, all while managing social distancing requirements and an ever growing need for our services, bringing more people to God’s Love than ever before. From all of us at God’s Love, we wish Marla best of luck and thank her for being a champion for us all! ❤️

The 12th Annual Douglas Elliman Ride for Love is just one month away! The Ride For Love is our annual bike-riding fundraiser and to-date has raised more than $1.57 million, funding 175,000 meals for our neighbors living with illness. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Modo Yoga NYC for their nearly $20,000 donation raised through Karma Classes! Each month, Karma Classes raises funds to support a charitable organization and we are so grateful to be a recent recipient. With your contribution, we will continue to cook, package, and deliver 17,000 medically tailored meals every weekday. Your kindness and compassion make a significant difference to our clients who are too sick to cook or shop for themselves. Together, we are making a positive and lasting impact in our communities.
