Here are just some of our amazing colleagues who hit a milestone this month. Pictured left to right: Brooke Boudreaux, Cary Wright, Meredith-Leigh Pleasants, Cristina Coy, CNP, and Grace Diaz. Yesterday, Good Reason Houston, in partnership with My Connect Community-Sharpstown/Gulfton, presented PK-12, postsecondary, and living wage outcome data to leaders across education, workforce, policy, and nonprofit sectors. Returning to Gulfton—Houston’s most diverse community with 12,000 public school students, many of whom are newcomers and immigrants—was so meaningful. It reminded me of my former students from Liberty, Long Academy, Sharpstown International, and Wisdom High School, now college sophomores and juniors, who made Houston feel like home when I first moved here. Data is not just numbers—it’s students, stories, and futures. Our conversations focused on how today’s reality isn’t set in stone and how each of us can drive change within our spheres of influence. I’m excited to see these leaders turn the insights into action to expand postsecondary pathways and economic mobility!
