We had the honor of attending the 100th birthday celebration of Dr. Bob McCann at the United States Institute of Peace. Dr. McCann’s life has been filled with tireless efforts toward social justice and peace, both domestically and internationally. From standing alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during the Montgomery Bus Boycott to advancing global peace initiatives with the United Nations, his dedication has touched lives around the world. It was heartwarming to see Ambassador George Moose, a resident of Goodwin Living and interim president of USIP, joining in the celebration. His commitment to diplomacy and peace reflects the same values that Dr. McCann has upheld throughout his remarkable life. Being surrounded by so many individuals working for a better, more peaceful world was truly inspiring. Last month, we had the privilege of hosting the “Aging Well in Northern Virginia” conference, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support of our amazing partner, the NORTHERN VIRGINIA BLACK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE INC (NVBCC).
