It includes growing what we can do around American manufacturing and opening up auto plants, not closing them like what happened under Donald Trump.” Building the clean energy economy is good for the American economy.

Increasing access to job training and hands-on experience is essential to developing our workforce... This week, we'd like to highlight an initiative from the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) that addresses this concept 🙌 In partnership with Lowe's, LISC is helping to increase access to jobs in the skilled trades within communities that have historically lacked access to the vital training needed for success. This effort has already aided hundreds of individuals - they have graduated from this program and have already been placed in their trades of choice. The initiative helps a wide range of individuals, from newly graduated high schoolers to those who have been in the workforce and want to switch paths. 👩🎓 We invite you to read more about this program from LISC + Lowe's at the link below - which also includes the stories of some of the individuals whose lives have been changed for the better.

GoPursue is committed to helping increase minority representation in every field 📈📈📈 Takeaways from a recent report, about the Washington, D.C. workforce specifically, show just how relevant this commitment is ⤵️ - Black unemployment rates in the district are consistently vastly higher than those of other races - Black median household income has stayed stagnant over the last decade, while white and Latino households have seen increases - The most common jobs for Black residents are some of the lowest-paying ones: cashiers, janitors, security guards, and surveillance officers We aim to help change this by refining the system - empowering all students to take control of their education and career goals. 🔋 Click the link below for more information about the report ⬇️

This week we'd like to highlight work done by The Southwest Colorado Education Collaborative! 📌 This organization recently launched a key initiative to help connect businesses and organizations that are interested in work-based learning opportunities for students in their region. These local businesses are allowed access to a platform to sign up for job shadowing, mentor as guest speakers, attend career fairs, and even hire student interns. These options have been proven to be useful ways for companies to fill their talent pipeline. ⭐️ Working to bridge the gap between these businesses and the students who are ready and willing to seek out a career path is so, so important - it directly aligns with the mission that we have here at GoPursue. 🙌 Check out the article linked below for more information and details on the Southwest Colorado Education Collaborative and its initiative!
