Going to Bat for Small Business… Thanks to PNC bank, Jermaine Johnson and his team for hosting an amazing experience “Going to Bat for Small Business” at Washington Nationals Park recognizing local small businesses. GoPursue and CEO Kathryn Adabonyan (nominated by the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) and CEO Jennifer Taylor) made it onto the scoreboard for its efforts to help students perform career discovery and networking with mentors on its platform. In June 2023, NYC Mayor Eric Adams released a blueprint for the Future of Work in the city's workforce, called "Pathways to an Inclusive Economy". This plan includes 5 core tenets, creating a holistic strategy for the workforce development of the largest city in the U.S.: 💡 Innovating the NYC Workforce Development Board 💡 Creating a 'Talent Investment Fund' 💡 Widening access to apprenticeships 💡 Measuring progress through a wide array of impact metrics 💡 Improving the employer experience for interacting with the workforce system The release of the blueprint was met with robust support.
