Grassroots is here for you with free, 24-hour support via our hotline (410-531-6677), 988 (phone, chat or text) or walk-in counseling at our location at 8990 Old Annapolis Road, Suite A in Columbia! We provide free, 24-hour crisis intervention, mental health, substance use disorder, housing support, suicide prevention and other services and resources. Individuals can receive phone, walk-in or Mobile Crisis Team support with a variety of situations, including: psychiatric crises like depression, isolation, anxiety or suicidal ideation; drug use or withdrawal; homelessness or housing insecurity; access to necessary assistance like food and hygiene items; connection to resources or treatment, and more. You can also reach out to us because you feel lonely, anxious, depressed or even suicidal. You may just need a listening ear. URGENT NEED: Grassroots provides three meals daily for 50 emergency shelter residents in our on-site commercial kitchen. We rely heavily on community support to feed our residents. We continue to urgently need your help, as we have many days where we need generous donors to sign up to make and deliver meals. We are so appreciative of all of those who support us! You can help by preparing a fully cooked meal or entrée to serve about 50 people (large steam table foil pans are used for serving). You can also purchase a meal from a local restaurant. We are signing off on service hours for students who make and deliver their own meals (and provide their own timesheet). Thank you so much to Consortium National Accounts for their amazing donation of 95 hygiene kits for the visitors to our Day Resource Center. The company took the time to put the kits together during a company-wide meeting. They included all types of personal essentials like socks, toothbrushes, shaving kits, mouthwash, lotion, body wash and deodorant. These kits are so necessary in providing dignity and comfort to the individuals who visit the Day Resource Center. Thank you so much, Consortium Health Plans team! The Day Resource Center is open Mondays & Wednesdays 2-6p and Saturdays 10a-2p. We provide hot meals, and access to case management, laundry, showers, a food/clothing pantry and community resources. Counselors are available 24-7 to provide help, resources and comfort with compassion and without judgment. Grassroots answers calls, chats and texts from individuals who reach out to 988, including chats and texts from throughout the United States.
