We are heartbroken by the devastation from Hurricane Helene, especially in western NC. Many families now face an urgent need for safe, stable housing. Our sister Habitats will need support as they begin rebuilding — and you can help. Starting today, Friday, 10/4 through Saturday 10/19, 100% of ReStore register round-ups and donations made through our donation pick-up drivers will be allocated to western NC Habitat affiliates that are impacted by the hurricane. You can also donate online here: https://shorturl.at/8YDEq

About us
Qualified homebuyers partner with Habitat Wake to buy safe, affordable homes. Homebuyers take homeowner education classes and complete 200 'sweat equity' hours building their home and the homes of their neighbors. Upon completion of construction, partner families pay an affordable mortgage. Our model is made possible by sponsors, individual donors, volunteers, and ReStore shoppers. Proceeds from our ten ReStore locations (Apex, Brier Creek, Cary, Clayton, Durham-Chapel Hill, Fuquay Varina, Glenwood Avenue, Hillsborough, Raleigh Boulevard in Raleigh, and Wake Forest) benefit Habitat Wake's mission. ReStores salvage used materials for repurpose and reuse. #TogetherWeBuild

So good to see so many of our nonprofit friends at this morning’s Wake County CEO Gathering, hosted by moss+ross. We were delighted to help host in our Raleigh ReStore where we had plenty of tables and seating! Thank you to the whole moss+ross team for putting the event together and thanks to all who attended – there was so much expertise and experience in the room, it was a wonderful opportunity to learn from each other. Today, in honor of September 11th, Habitat Wake proudly kicked off the first of several 2024 Veterans Builds. During this Season of Service, we will shine a light on the unique challenges veterans face in accessing affordable housing, while creating opportunities for volunteers and veterans to build both homes and community together. Thank you to our partners on today's build, FMI, and Strategic Wealth Designers for making this event possible. And to the Naval ROTC at NCSU, who presented the flag and led us in a moment of silence. #911 #dayofservice

Today we enjoyed hosting Congressman Wiley Nickel at our largest community, Old Poole Place, to discuss how federal funding impacts our work in Wake County and what our elected officials can do to support affordable housing in their communities. Thank you Congressman Nickel for taking the time to see our work in action!

Lot selection is a pivotal moment in a Habitat homebuyer’s journey, taking place after they’ve completed fifty sweat equity hours. This is when they get to explore various neighborhoods and floor plans, tailoring their choice to their unique budget, family size, and preferences. We were joined by the Habitat Campus Chapter at North Carolina State University's Packapalooza event this past weekend to spread information on how students and attendees can get involved with Habitat Wake! These students work with us throughout the school year to volunteer on the construction site and in the ReStores, as well as host Shack-A-Thon each spring to raise money to support us in building affordable homes in the Triangle. We appreciate their support in recruiting the student population at NC State to our cause, and look forward to seeing what they can do together this year in the community! 🐺❤️🏡
