About us
Qualified homebuyers partner with Habitat Wake to buy safe, affordable homes. Homebuyers take homeowner education classes and complete 200 'sweat equity' hours building their home and the homes of their neighbors. Upon completion of construction, partner families pay an affordable mortgage. Our model is made possible by sponsors, individual donors, volunteers, and ReStore shoppers. Proceeds from our ten ReStore locations (Apex, Brier Creek, Cary, Clayton, Durham-Chapel Hill, Fuquay Varina, Glenwood Avenue, Hillsborough, Raleigh Boulevard in Raleigh, and Wake Forest) benefit Habitat Wake's mission. ReStores salvage used materials for repurpose and reuse. #TogetherWeBuild

Thank you to the teams at Xylem and Builders Mutual for joining us for a wall build! In just two hours, an entire home’s walls were assembled as part of our Season of Service leading up to Veterans Day. We’re grateful for partners who care deeply about our community, and to Zebulon Commissioner Quentin Miles for showing his support on site today.

For Kai, owning a home has been a lifelong dream. "I’ve always envisioned a place for me and my three kids," she said. "Raising them on my own hasn’t been easy. My oldest is 28 and living on his own, but I still have two girls at home—17 and 8. They know what I’m doing out here, and we’re all so excited." Kai finished orientation and had her first day on the construction site last week. Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eW4zdZWJ

It was great to host Deborah Ross on site today at our Knightdale neighborhood, Flowers Place, to share our plans for upcoming work and discuss the challenges of building affordable housing in our community. We appreciate Rep. Ross's support on key housing bills and hope that Congress finalizes the FY25 budget soon and includes robust funding for affordable housing.
