This week Clerk of Courts Pavan V. Parikh joined Hamilton County, Ohio Sheriff's Office Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey and Domestic Relations Court Administrative Judge Anne Flottman to give a brief report to the Hamilton County, Ohio Board of County Commissioners on the work of the Hamilton County Domestic Violence Task Force. Over a dozen agencies/organizations meet regularly to address issues and break down barriers in accessing justice for survivors of domestic violence. American Archives Month is celebrated every October to raise awareness of the importance of archives and archivists. Follow us throughout the month as we share some of our recent archive finds! For our first post about #ArchivesMonth, we want to give a huge shoutout to volunteer archivist Jim Dempsey. Jim is a historian and advocate for the preservation of historical records. Without his work through the years, we wouldn’t have rediscovered the treasure trove of records that were untouched for decades. Join us in thanking Jim for his service to the community!

Today Clerk of Courts Pavan V. Parikh attended the State of Cincinnati Metro luncheon. It was inspiring to hear the stories of individuals who have benefitted from increased access to jobs and other important services they need for their daily lives. Thank you to Metro and CEO Darryl Haley for your work to deliver improved services for the people of Hamilton County!

Thanks to our partners at University of Cincinnati College of Law, Hamilton County Juvenile Court, Hamilton County, Ohio Board of Commissioners, and City of Cincinnati the work of the Help Center has been able to grow over the last few years. When we all come together, we can help people overcome barriers in access to justice. This morning Hamilton County Clerk of Courts staff were proud to participate in two breakfasts honoring the work of individuals who are helping Hamilton County thrive. Congratulations to the honorees at the YWCA Greater Cincinnati Racial Justice Breakfast, Eileen Cooper Reed, Esq & Dr. Meredith Shockley-Smith, and to the Crime Stoppers of the Year awardees! Thank you to these organizations who are important partners in our work to improve access to justice for all in our community!

It is an honor to serve those who have served our country. The Hamilton County Clerk of Courts helped coordinate a group of legal service organizations from Hamilton County to attend the annual DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Homeless Veteran Stand Down again this year. Thank you to those who joined us to assist these Veterans today! Special thank you to: City of Cincinnati Solicitor's Office, Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati, Hamilton County Public Defender, Hamilton County Recorder's Office, Hamilton County Veterans Treatment Court, Cincinnati VA Medical Center Veterans Justice Outreach, Ohio Justice & Policy Center, and all the organizations who came together to serve our community's Veterans at this event.
