We are almost halfway through the summer with this year's top-notch intern class. Last week, the group came to our headquarters to meet with leaders in various departments. Here at Hanes Industries, safety is an integral part of our culture. For this year’s #NationalSafetyMonth, we have decided to highlight some team members who are committed to keeping our team safe and in top condition. Meet Matt Jenkins, one of our Environmental Health and Safety Managers. Matt started working fulltime in safety around 20 years ago as he cares about people and wants to see them safe. To him, his position is more than just a job paying the bills. It’s a responsibility to help his team stay out of harm’s way and build habits to prevent future accidents. Here at Hanes Geo Components, safety is an integral part of our culture. For this year’s #NationalSafetyMonth, we are highlighting some team members who are committed to keeping our team safe and in top condition. Meet Robert Baker, one of our Environmental, Health and Safety Managers. Robert’s career as a military police officer in the Army taught him the importance of attention to detail, organization, accountability, safety, and clean work environments. After the Army, he started working at Hanes as a shipping and receiving team lead before moving to the safety and audit team. When his manager retired, he applied for his position and has been leading our team as the EHS manager for the last 3 years. Helping people keep themselves accountable is important, and Robert likes having that responsibility on his shoulders.
