Status: OOO ⛵ Every year, the Harken USA factory shuts down for the afternoon to do what we love most - go sailing! Last week, Harken employees enjoyed a beautiful day on Lake Michigan for the annual Harken Sail Day. This year, we also celebrated the retirement of Jim Thomas after 27 years at Harken. But this might not be Jim’s last Sail Day—retirees are welcome to return each year, and many join us to reconnect with former colleagues and enjoy a day on the water. #HarkenSailDay

After 57 years serving sailors, Harken is going fishing! 🎣 We’ve known that fishermen take our ball-bearing blocks, call them pulleys, and use them to compete in an arena that is every bit as competitive as sailing: sportfishing. Lately, we’ve begun to collaborate with top level fishing crew and our customers at boat builders and outrigger companies. Turns out, we have a lot in common. Carbon fiber poles with sheaves, moving parts, and a lot of load. The outcome of the collaboration is a new section of the Harken website – the Sportfishing section. On the new Sportfishing section on Harken.com, you will find our new 40mm Carbo Fiddle Block that is a fishing first for Harken. It differs from what we sell anywhere else and is designed just for sportfishermen. Check it out at https://lnkd.in/eUbVYhRa
